  1. I have sailed twice on Windstar in French Polynesia.  One on Windstar and one on Star Breeze.   Both are great to explore these beautiful islands.  They give you a chance to kayak, paddleboard, and snorkel too.  Service and accommodations are very good.   They are very welcoming to their gay guests!

  2. We arrived White Bay in March on the Noordam. It is indeed isolated from the city, no public transportation. I don't think Uber drivers can access the area (we tried), but taxis slowly came through. We waited in taxi line for about 90 minutes! Ultimately taxi took us into city for about $25USD. It's a disadvantage to come into White Bay rather than Circular Quay but you just have to work with it.

  3. We have sailed multiple cruise lines but HAL gets my vote for larger ship voyages. LGBT gatherings have been well attended and I've met a lot of great people over the years there. Crew is always top notch and very gay friendly. I have done both long and shorter trips on HAL and I don't find the passengers any older than similar voyages on other lines. Usually that has more to do with the duration and cost of the cruise, rather than the line itself. Older folks have the time and money to spend weeks at sea! My partner and I are always looking toward our next HAL voyage.

  4. They filmed the RHOC episode in March. Cast and crew were on our ATN flight as we flew in for our March 7 PG cruise. Lots of hoopla around them at LAX and a special welcoming crew at PPT. Was fun to watch the ladies fluff up for the cameras upon arrival in Papeete after the long flight. I was sort of hoping they would be on the Paul Gauguin, but probably good thing they were not! I'm not a RHOC fan, but watching now to see how well they showcase Tahiti and Moorea.

  5. Tahitian islands are spectacular, and the people are very welcoming. However.....the SHIP will blow you away. It is stunning. The drop down sports deck on the back provides a wonderful sea kayak launch, and SCUBA if you're interested. We were on the Atlantis alumni cruise on the Paul GAUGIN a few years ago. Hope you think it's lovely!

Thank you for the reply and encouraging words. We are very excited for the experience! Sounds like it will be a great trip. Any further tips or advice welcome. Happy cruising!

  6. I live on Siesta Key (Sarasota) and cruise a few times per year. Have done the gay charters several times, but now happier on mainstream voyages. My partner and I are content to leave circuit party crowds behind and enjoy the cruise. Anyone have thoughts on the difference? We always find Holland America to be gay friendly throughout.

  7. I too have sailed both HAL and Celebrity. I am partial to Holland America, in particular the Eurodam or Nieuw Amsterdam, which are their newest ships. My partner and I love the classy, adult-oriented ship with great service and accommodations. Our trip this month on the N. A. was great and there were essentially no kids aboard! HAL may have older avg age but that gives us more deck space, better late show seats, and room to breathe! Either line will be a good time, just my preference for HAL.

  8. Ross is a fitness model and super friendly. Supposedly married. From Zimbabwe. Excellent cruise director with all the PAX, but esp friendly with us guys. My partner won the DWTS competition there so we are sailing the Champions Cruise on N.A. next week. Should be full of fun and scenery! Let's share stories after we all return home.

  9. My partner and I will be on the Nieuw Amsterdam and in Key West for the day Sat, Jan 18. Bike rental to explore sounds good. Anyone know which gay guesthouses offer a day pass and which would be a fun diversion from the str8 cruise ship life that day? I see Island House mentioned but have never been there.
