I get on Ovation tomorrow so will report back once I get Wi-Fi somewhere or when I return.

Just further to Thiago on Rhapsody, he's informed me he'll be there until about December, so contract length is a bit unsure, possibly because it's his first time as AM.
-
Rhapsody AM is Thiago Motta. He used to be team leader for DreamWorks on a few different ships, and will do an amazing job. Been chatting to him on Facebook and will confirm his contract length once I find out.
-
Was just coming in to post that Daniel is on Harmony but you beat me to it. Didn't see him much so didn't get to ask his contract length.

Some CD's obviously appeal to some and not to others but I don't get why he always gets the new ships. That's all I'm going to say.
I tend agree. We found him and Katy to be pretty much invisible the whole cruise, at least until the last evening.

Just off symphony this morning, and Bobby is getting off today and going to Germany to be the inaugural CD on Spectrum.

The Auckland hop on, hop off buses are also very easy to use. They go pretty much from where the tenders will dock and stop at a lot interesting places. We used it a couple of years ago and found it great!

Hi David.
Can you please add the following for us:
2nd March, 2019 - Symphony of the seas 7 nights Eastern Carribean round trip from Miami
10th March, 2019 - Harmony of the seas 7 nights round trip from Fort Lauderdale

Those dogs will sniff out a bag that had a banana in it a week prior. Luckily a quick search would show that the person was innocent of smuggling food in, but it does send a message that the dogs are very good at detection on contraband.
That exact scenario happened to me in Auckland a couple of years ago. Had my work backpack which I'd had a banana in a week earlier. Their sense of smell is amazing.

Hey Gut,
Just wanted to add my appreciation for everything you have done for this forum. You have always given great advice and even though I've never publicly acknowledged it, your advice has been invaluable to me.
Best wishes to yourself and mrs Gut on your health journey.

When we were on her in February, they definitely had them. We just went to guest services and they linked them to our account.

You have 60 minutes to unravel the mystery or numerous puzzles within a room, working within the team to escape and get out of the room.:D
Sounds cool. Will definitely be giving that a go!!
-
I'm now very curious as to what the escape room actually is. Anyone care to enlighten me before I board on Monday?

Hi johnboi
Thanks for the link. We won't be using the airport except for the day we arrive and the day we leave, so I think we are safe :)
ML
All good. Just wanted to let you know just in case :)

The only places on a sunday where you won't get the $2.50 fare is if you get on or off at one of the airport. Please see attachment:

Just an addition, if you really need a powerboard, you can ask your stateroom attendant and they might be able to supply one.

Hi David.
I forgot to post we're on Ovation leaving sydney going to Singapore on February 20th, 2017. Only 9 days to go 😊😊😊
-
I did IFLY with my friend and neither of us would be what I call fit and we had a great time. And neither of us had a sore back or shoulder. Go for it!
Cheers Cruisegroover. Now I just have to hope I can get inside the weight limit.
-
I didn't post to get flamed about my weight, but thanks for doing that shireboi. I was probably a bit over the top about the top figure, with it generally being a fluctuation of 102-106, depending on the time of day and the actual scales. I can be 102 on the scales at home, and use the ones at work an hour or two later and be 104. And as for fitness, I am getting better.
Just hoping now that I can squeeze inside the weight limit, and/or get an instructor who is a bit less strict about weight limits.
-
Thanks Mic. Looks like I could be missing out. Currently 106 fully clothed and just under 6 foot and aren't booked in until towards the end of our cruise, the start of March. I'll try and drop a few kgs before we cruise and hope for the best.
-
Question for anyone who has sailed on Ovation so far....what is the weight limit for ifly, and how strictly do they keep to it? On the rci website, it says 250 pounds, which is about 113kg, but I've read reviews which say its limited to under 105kg. As someone whose weight fluctuates between 102 and 109kg, especially when on a cruise and eating all that yummy food, it has me worried.

Also, if you plan on snorkeling, make sure you buy reef shoes. You can get them at Big W and Kmart, or failing that a camping store. If you don't have them, your feet will get carved to pieces if you step on any coral.
-
Good stuff.
Although, that will be it for the ship this season.:(
I'm bummed we have to wait that long, but it works out well cos we arrive in Singapore on my better half's birthday.
-
They're also open for the reposition to Singapore leaving on February 20th. Just booked in all of ours.
