  1. we were on the valor nov 17-22 and wanted to do this for my granddaughter . I had a hard time finding out anything they need to do better with information on the valor about this and i told them just that . you are right to my knowledge there is no way to sign up ahead of time and people on here have said you need to sign up early so I couldn't find anyone when I got on the ship I went to guest services they gave me a couple of phone numbers to call one had no answer the other was steak house she tried to tell me where to go I didn't know my way around yet either so I walked all over trying to find it finally found it just inside deck nine where the rooms are that is  good if you are staying on that deck if not you would never see it better location for this carnival please.anyway  I got there and they were closing and told me to go to guest services the next day. this is getting ridiculous should not be this hard .checked back with guest services they did not help me on this at all. My daughter in law finally got involved went to guest services and got the person to get someone with authority and was able to get us in What the heck one of my only complaints about the cruise over all . anyway I hope they do better with this in the future.

  2. just returned from 5 day on the valor we had been to progresso before a few years ago had a good time walked to beach from bus drop off only about 2 blocks sat on beach at table ordered drinks and some food charged reasonable price . Not so much this time we were taken to a table old plastic table and chairs but ok we thought ordered bucket of beer when here before as long as you ordered drinks and food that is all you were charged for so I assumed it was the same now don't assume anything be sure to ask prices we were given a bill and way over charged for drinks like 5 dollars for each beer and 12 dollars each for 2 margaritas they did bring a menu and ordered some food had price on it for food the menu said buddys on it they also added a charge for table and chairs we said no not paying for that and said we would tell carnival what they were doing they then adjusted the bill also they wanted cash only no credit cards did not have this problem on last visit so just be aware ask up front so you know or do excursion or just stay on the boat like others say they do in this port . I had also heard the prices were cheaper here than Cozumel did not find that true at all we did a similar thing there and had a great day at carlos and charlies beach nice loungers right on beach close to water clean restrooms available and good service had food and beer for much more reasonable prices maby we just got the wrong people at progresso just be aware.

  3. same for us on the sunshine went to guest services took a few minutes someone showed up and said if you are platinum diamond or fttf come with me we followed her down ther was a line but not as long as the tender ticket line we were on in a few minutes

  4. i do agree with what they say above crowded in areas did not like the marketplace at all the havana bar behind there was a little less crowded but not much always a line for the omlette station so we never wanted to wait the breakfast burritos at blue iguana on lido were good but again at times there is where you go to get to market place so gets a little congested if need to get through sea days if you like to lay in the sun or out on deck can be challanging to find a chair if you dont get out early espically on serenity area but they do try to moniter the saving of chairs up on serenity cause i watched her one day this one person was saving a lounge and a clam shell bed he kept moving back and forth when she would tag them till his wife showed up around noon wow that was to much effort for me when im on vacation.there was a slight sewer smell on deck 4 one day not bad though the staff was good food was pretty good the pay restaurants were good we didnt make it to much of the entertainment went to a magic show it was all card tricks very impressive tricks but got a little old wish had been other magic stuff also. the comedy was fun went one night you have to get in line ahead of time to get in to see the comedy club it fills up fast its a small area if you get there later you will be sitting where you cant see the stage you are looking at a tv screen thats wierd but thats how its designed there is good and bad about this ship depends on what you like how you will feel about it i still enjoyed my trip but will probably try a different ship next time if you want to get away from crowd one day try the secret deck all the way forward on deck seven no one there the day i went there

  5. we did this excursion on jan 31 just as you said it was very nice food was delicious service great beautiful relaxing place the only exception was when going in the water it is very rockey so be careful would bring swim shoes that would help i think some rocks were big though so still easy to fall we did not use the water much because of this did not matter that much we still had a enjoyable day lots of people went in to snorkle anyway did not seem to bother anyone much going in and out of the water did see some fall down though

  6. I have a question regarding the port of New Orleans and boarding the Elation. I am debating on parking in the terminal garage vs. the Fulton garage. Any advice is greatly appreciated. We will be three women each traveling with a suitcase and a carry-on. How far is the walk to the ship and/or are there porters to help us with our luggage?

the fulton garage has a shuttle to take you to port and pick u up had to wait about 30 min for a shuttle to take us to port dont know if this is typical or not the shuttle was waiting when we returned to take us back could probably walk but its not easy with luggage not recommended there are porters to take your luggage if you use port parking you drop your luggage off then go park
