They are also offering a $200 on board credit if you hold the card.  We are booked in September and have the Mastercard $200 credit and if we keep the booking and sail, so far there is an additional $50 obc from Carnival for keeping it.

Can you tell me how you go about obtaining this $200 on board credit if you have the CCL MasterCard? Do you have to submit a request to CCL or to MasterCard? Thanks for info!

Thank you.  I rarely use the card (only for 10% off shore excursions) and used only the cash rewards in the past.

How does the 10% off of shore excursions work? I booked a cabana at Mahogany Bay with my CCL MasterCard. How do I get 10% off?

  3. We are sailing on the Connie on September 8th! We are trying to find a place to meet for Sailaway and several people on our Roll Call have said we should meet at the Sunset Bar on Deck 10, however I can't find it on the Deck Plan. I know there are many of you who love the Connie and will know the answer. If there is a Sunset Bar is it port or starboard???

    Thanks!!!

  4. Julie,

My DH and I have cruised the last three years out of SJU and each time we have gone seaglass hunting at the location across from the Capitol building. There have always been other looking for seaglass there and a few questionable people on the beach but we have never felt threatened. I have always brought back at least a gallon ziplock bag or two back from that beach. The best finds are after a storm!!! Walk all the way down the beach to the ruins of an old fortress in the water. It's a beautiful couple hours on the beach. I'll be ther on October 23rd!!!!!

  5. Hi Lovcruising from California,

We are Dennis & Cheryl from St. Petersburg, FL. We are on the Indy to Ft. Lauderdale, too! We are arriving at Heathrow on the 31st, our flight arrives at 6:25 am and will take the HEX to Paddington and a taxi to the hotel, staying overnight at Marriott County Hall, whirlwind tour with a private cab and getting the Cruise Bus to Southampton via Stonehenge on Nov 1st!!!! I found the Cruise Bus info on The London Toolkit website at £59, not sure if it is the National Express. I have not made reservations for the bus yet. I finally made hotel reservations since the rates had not changed at all after checking every day for a couple months!

This cruise is for our 40th Anniversary! Where did all those years go?

Maybe we will be on the same bus to the Indy! We can't wait!

  6. Hi KSTravelers!

We are off to Grand Cayman and Cozumel this weekend! Try the Malibu Rum Shot (it's not just Malibu Rum) at the swim-up bar. Every time we are at Nachi (this will be visit #5) we have a few while we sit at the swim-up bar! They are awesome!!!:D

  7. 7 ships in port--figured this was worth the few extra $ it would cost us.

    $55 pp.

$11pp nonrefundable deposit (unless ship doesn't port at Cozumel)

Parasailing is no long listed:( But it does list wave runners.

DH just said "sounds kinda pricey"--but after I said 7 ships were in port that day he understood.

They do have Sol beer--better than Corona Light, imo! (and DH's too!)

Can anyone comment on the seafood soup? (DH & I both find this an odd addition to a beach menu...but curious)

Also curious about the substitutions--would love to sub ceviche for soup (seems a more appropriate substitution!)

    Hi KKB!

We are off to Grand Cayman and Cozumel this weekend with a heavenly day planned at Nachi next Tuesday! You can order any items on the menu that you want, as much as you want and in any order that you want. At the swim up bar ask the bartender for a Malibu Rum with other stuff SHOT! It's my absolute favorite and they go down smoothly! Can't wait, hope I survive the work week! Plan to start the cruise with "Two piña coladas - one for each hand", because I deserve it!!!!!

Hope you have a wonderful time at Nachi! This is our fifth visit!:D

  8. Hi to all PF suffers,

I too had PF for 10 plus years!! I saw specialists and had custom orthotics made and bought shoes that were $250 . I still suffered every day! DH would take me to the mall and I could only spend 45 minutes to an hour on my feet. Ate Advil like it was candy!!

I kept seeing an ad on TV for a place called "Good Feet". So one day I went to their store in Clearwater, FL to find out if they could help me, because I thought I would have PF for the rest of my life! I ended up spending almost $500 on three pair of inserts for my shoes that had varying degrees of support for my feet. I will tell you that the lady at the store said that they would change my life! I was skeptical, to say the least, but I was desperatefor any relief.

We'll they HAVE changed my life and I no longer have active PF but I still wear the inserts in every shoe I put on my feet, including the new boots with 5 inch heels that I bought last week. I have not been able to wear any heel over about an inch and a half for almost 10 years, but have recently been able to wear high heels again.

You can also find the least aggressive inserts being sold in the spa on most cruise ships. At least stop and let them give you a demo. I know your saying, yeah sure, but you have to try them to believe them. It took 9 months to a year for my PF to go away completely but I do not wake up anymore in the morning and fear getting out of bed and putting my feet on the floor.

They may change your life, too!

  9. Printingchick,

We were on the Jewel on September 7th. The itinerary was St. Maarten, st. Kitts, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados, day at sea! Our formal nights were day 2 (St. Maarten) and day 5 (St. Lucia). The White Hot Night was day 4 (Antigua). 50's/60's Night was on Day 3 (St. Kitts). Quest was Day 6 (Barbados) at 11:15 PM.

One thing to remember if you are doing this itinerary is that the day you are in St. Maarten is a Sunday and the stores in town close by 2:00 PM. We went to Maho Beach and when we got back to shop a little before we went back to the ship everything was closed !!!!!

During our Meet & Mingle party the Jewel Rep. (can't remember his name) advised the they had changed to only one muster drill at 8 PM.

We had such a good time on the cruise that we have booked another cruise on the Jewel on April 26th! Can't wait!!!!

    Enjoy your cruise!

  10. Hi All!

I love jeans and jean capri's and I live in Florida! I have been losing weight - 57 lbs. so far and found new jeans that I love! They are Jones New York "Lexington Straight" jeans! They fit so nice and they make me look so much thinner!

I don't usually wear jeans on a cruise but cruising has changed so much since we first started cruising in 1999! Jeans are much more common today on cruises as the age of cruisers has dropped and cruising has become more popular with those that don't remember when cruising was much dressier! I occasionally wear jean capri's in the evening when we walk around the promenade deck because I am comfortable in them! I would never wear them to the MDR!!!

What ever you choose to wear, enjoy your cruise!

    Cheryl
