Curious to see how it will go for the first cruise ships sailing out of Canada.
Reminder?!?! How can I be reminded of something I never knew? I am sailing out of Montreal in June and have not been told anything about this! All I have been told is that I have to have proof of vaccination, covid testing within 72 hours of boarding and my passport. I will be flying in to Montreal on Air Canada and they havent told me of ANY prerequisites to traveling at all! I am terribly afraid of being denied boarding (flight or cruise!) due to not having something I need, but did not know about. Please help me and explain exactly what I need! Thank you!

We did all of our excursions in Alaska privately and saved significantly. In addition' date=' we had far smaller groups than the cruise lines provide.
Whale watching in Juneau (which was combined with a trip to Mendenhall Glacier) was a big hit. I've been informed that we need to do that again. In Ketchikan, we did Totem Bight State Park on our own. They have volunteer guides as well as a guide sheet that you can do on your own. Transportation on the city bus was $2 per person...so an almost free excursion. I really thought the family considered it sort of a "dud" till we started talking about doing Alaska again. Suddenly I was hearing that we HAD TO go there again. We also spent a little time in the town of Ketchikan and visited Walmart for a couple of items that a teen can't live without and had been forgotten.
In Skagway we did the railway one direction and the bus back--it was great for waterfalls and scenery, but not the hit of the trip.[/quote']
What company did you use for the Whale watching trip in juneau? Would you recommend them?

I will be taking the same trip as you, on the Bliss, August 11th. PLEASE let me know how your trip was, once you take it and if you have any suggestions/pointers for me. We cannot book our excursions yet, but we are planning on booking:
Ketchikan ~ Bering Sea Greatest Catch tour
Juneau ~ Whale watching, either with the trip to Mendahall Glacier or without, havent decided yet
Scagway ~ Train trip, but from what I am reading here, I am thinking of doing the train/bus combo now
Victoria ~ On our own; I want to go the miniature museum, the Fairmount Hotel and fishermans warf.
We are traveling in a group of 10, ages 75 down to 15. My own two sons are 18 and 21. I would love to get your insiders tips once you take your trip!!
Hi guys here is where we will be going and what we have planned. I'm still trying to decide what to do in Ketchikan and Victoria. Any suggestions? The days in red below are booked, my wife and I are young (under 50) and my kids are 23 and 22. We love animals as well as food and checking out local things. I heard Ketchikan is great to Kayak? Anything better to do?The Norwegian Bliss offers an Orca boat excursion with our ship only in Victoria. We really can't decide what to do and need some suggestions.
Monday June 18th: Ketchikan, Alaska (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Tuesday June 19th: Juneau, Alaska (7:00 AM - 1:30 PM) - Whale Watching
Wednesday June 20th: Skagway, Alaska (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) - VIP Train Ride

I have not done the gold panning tour so I cannot speak to that. However, I have gone to Mendenhall glacier. We did a combined Mendenhall and whale watching trip and we loved it! On the whale watching trip we saw lots of fins, tails and backs and it was very cool. At Mendenhall we went to the visitors center and walked the trail to the glacier. We saw a bear. on. the. trail!!! That was our favorite part!
