  1. Best for snorkeling:

Day trip (there's plenty of charters) to Tintmarre, Pinel island, Creole Rock or Prickly pear (You can get to Pinel island via ferry as well).

Best snorkeling beaches without charters or ferrys:

    Top choices

Corners of Friars Bay and Happy Bay (these are connected - you have to walk through a trail to get to happy bay though).

Baie Rouge north east corner (as soon as you enter from parking area - make a right).

Mullet Bay south corner (You can then wlak to Maho beach from here - 10-20 Min walk heading south though Maho Village).

    Little Bay north east corner.

***Would NOT recommend Great Bay for snorkeling.

** Club Orient (nude section) of Orient Bay has beautiful snorkeling just off shore.

  2. We're only doing two excursions:

St Thomas - we are doing a beach cruise to John Van Dyke island (which is supposed to be amazing).

St Lucia - snorkling between the Pitons.

And then St Maarten we will be on clothing optional Orient beach.:)

As per suggestions - personally on St Maarten; club orient (Orient beach) is the beach to be on; if clothing optional doesn't affect your sensibilities - it's family friendly - not sexually charged. However - we usually stay on St Maarten as land based vacations so we've seen the other stuff - for a firt timer- the planes on Maho would be pretty cool.

    and

Meghans Bay in St Thomas is beautiful.

If you have time - rainforest in Puerto Rico is beautiful.

Don't know too much about the other islands.

  3. Here would be my suggestions (or things I personally love to do in St Maarten):

Simpson Bay: La bamba and Buccaneer Beach Bar at night.

Eating in Simpson Bay is about the vibe of the place - not necessarily the food, except for the cheap local foodstands that abound - those are really good.

As far as stand out meals in this area, I would choose the Stone or So French. For a nice view of the bay while eating; a bunch of the restaurants on the bay-side offer this - however I would rate the food as average (certainly not bad but on this island you can get some GREAT food), if you do choose these restaurants (Pinapple Pete's, etc), I would stick to fish or Caribbean meals.

Leaving Simpson Bay; nightlife at Sky Beach Lounge in Maho - this a beautiful roof top bar near the Sonesta Maho Resort / also catch a show at Cherries. More night life is a drive past Mullet to Porto Cupecoy where restaurants there have live music and dancing on selected nights in a Mediterranean setting.

Also in the Cupecoy area is the Starz casino complex which host a number of bars and eateries in a cute little area behind the casino. This is also home to my favorite restaurant on the island Temptation. This place is also a well known celebrity hot spot (there's photos of Anthony Bourdain, Chris Rock and Patti Labelle eating here).

The main food capital of the island is Grand Case where there's bountiful amazing choices for dinner. If you go in the day, the places to lounge at are Calmos Cafe, Zen It or Rainbow Cafe.

Marigot is fun, only go in the day though and stick to the water front which is prettier.

Off the beaten path a little is Loiterrie farm which offers a cool little lounge in a tree house in the rainforest and some pools, trails, climbing, zip lining and make shift waterfalls.

Also don't neglect Orient Bay Village which also has some amazing restaurants in their square - open in the evenings.

And oh yea, go to some beaches lol.
