Hi Canderson, you will not be disappointed, they are great suites.
-
Hi Canderson, try Silver Suite 1114, it is perfect, even though it is close to the lifts there is absolutely no noise whatsoever.
-
We have been in this suite on a trans ocean voyage and it is noisy from about 6.00am when they start to move the furniture around, we would not choose this location again no matter how good the suite is.
Agree with Mr Luxury, always have a suite above you.
-
Hi Drron, how are you enjoying the suite size compared to your previous suite selections?
Curious as we are considering a Deluxe Verandah for a 39 day cruise having only travelled in Silver Suites previously but S/S are not very flexible with pricing anymore and we will not do door to door.
-
Hi Drron,
How was the transition from a silver/medallion suite down to a veranda suite?
We are thinking of doing the same as we too are coming to the end of our cruising life and have only ever travelled in silver suites.

Just been advised by S/S Sydney that we do not need a Negative RAT to board the vessel in Barcelona on 14th Sept but will be tested on board prior to arrival in Rome where the second part of the voyage commences, to comply with Greek requirements, irrespective of there being only one booking number the cruise is deemed to be two voyages.
-
Thanks Drron, most appreciated.

Hi Drron,
Was your luggage taken to the cruise terminal where you collected it or did you collect it on disembarkation from the ship?
-
Hi Drron,
We are arriving Venice (Fusina) in Early October, would you know if you can arrange a private pick up at Fusina or it needs to be at the Venice cruise terminal, it’s quite confusing.
-
There are heaters but it can still be cold and windy.
-
Many thanks rojaan.
-
Hi drron29
can you please advise where you got your supervised RAT Test in Barcelona and was it difficult to find?
-
Thanks Marc, given the cost and uncertainty in relation to ice I think we will choose another cruise.
I could not stand the frustration if we could not stick to the itinerary.
We have already done the Artic and just thought the Northwest Passage may be a little different for a change.

Thinking of doing this cruise in a Silver Suite.
Would appreciate any comments from those that have done this cruise previously, is it worth it for the money and what are the negatives?
Also how does the Silver Suite on the refurbished Cloud compare to say Shadow or Spirit/Muse.
-
Anybody know when Shadow will be getting a dry dock facelift as we are booked Mid 2018?
-
We did this cruise in August 2012. Had 14 sightings of Polar Bears, all at fairly close range and one female that came right up to the ship with her two cubs.
-
No children on Southampton to Montreal in September.
-
Agree totally with this thread.
We have nearly 200 days on S/S and would not even entertain the thought of sailing another cruise line.It suits us perfectly even though it would be nice if they had more voyages in the Southern Hemisphere.
Don't necessarily agree with everything they do,such as the new menu, but so be it nothings perfect in life.
If you don't like S/S you have other choices!

Had this suite on a t/a crossing and yes there is noise from chairs etc above which started around 6.00am. If you are a light sleeper it may not be for you unless you are an early riser.

A bunch of Aussies boarded in Seward apparently two groups. It bought the demographic down by about 20 years, what had been a pleasant crossing from Tokyo has turned into a 7 day booze cruise from Seward to Vancouver. The dress code for this segment is 5 casual and 2 informal, no formal. Apparently this will be the case for all 7 day Alaska segments this year.
This has resulted in quite a degradation of the dress code, an example last night was an Aussie in Flipflops in the restaurant on a casual night, clearly a breach of guidelines but he got away with it!
Unfortunately the staff have to turn a blind eye to it as casual is not that clearly defined in Silverseas's policy.
If this is going to be the case going forward beware of taking 7 day segments as the once 6 star experience is becoming equivalent of mass market and not worth the premium price.
Removing Italy on Silversea?

Agree, nothing like the cruise line it used to be, the Italian heritage is unfortunately now gone and their door to door pricing is a joke!
