  1. HI,

We are also just off the Dawn…. Karabi who… we did not see her that much, we have had better service before. THe few times that we did see her she was very polite and accommodating, but she was not around. I guess I am used to someone who is always there making suggestions and offers.

Our cabin steward was CHRIS and he was amazing, I can not say enough about him.

Jennifer was our butler and she was good but again no where to be seen, I four leaving notes to be the best communication.

I guess it is a hit or miss when it comes to this, but most of the other posts that I have read do indicate that she is very professional. I am sure that I will have a great time either way :D:D

  2. I sailed the Dawn for my 12th time on July 11 2014 .

I was looking for-way to meeting John D Sousa as I wad heard he was one of the best of all NCL concierge .

I went to the concierge lounge a couple of times only to find it empty . The third morning that I went there once again to an empty desk I asked at Cagneys maitre D' stand " Where is the concierge guy " .

At this point one of the young ladys at the stand said " I'M the concierge " never to look up or ask what I wanted .

After waiting for a bit I looked at my wife shook my head and left with no more from her. I was very disappointed.

    ????

Ouch! Not what I want to hear. Maybe she was new as a concierge at that time and still learning the ropes?

Anyhow, I am not the kind to let others ruin my vacation. No cleaning and cooking for a week!! :D:D

    Happy cruising.

  3. Norwegian Launches Butler-Drawn Bath Menu

    on 12 December 2013.

Norwegian Cruise Line has added another element of luxury to the line’s array of exclusive suite amenities by introducing a new, first of its kind in the cruise industry “Bath Butler” menu, offering guests the opportunity to pamper themselves with one of the line’s signature baths, which are drawn by the suite guest’s dedicated certified butler.

The butler baths are listed on an in-suite menu and available in all suites fleet wide, including those in the Haven by Norwegian, the line’s exclusive ship-within-in-a-ship suite complex.

“Norwegian’s suites offer a level of service and array of exclusive amenities that can only be found in five and six star land-based resorts,” said Kevin Sheehan, Norwegian Cruise Line’s chief executive officer.

“With the introduction of our Bath Butler Menu, we are taking luxury to the next level and know that our guests will love pampering themselves with one of these specially designed baths drawn by our certified butlers.”

Norwegian’s Bath Butler Menu features seven different luxury bath packages, each inspired by one of Norwegian’s spectacular destinations. Every package also includes a tasty treat and refreshing beverage selection. Many of Norwegian’s suite bath tubs also have views of the ocean for an even more luxurious experience.

For those guests wanting the ultimate in pampering, Norwegian’s signature drawn bath is the unparalleled Mediterranean Soak. For $499, guests will bask in the French verbena bubbles that surround them, as they block out the world with their eye mask while sipping on a glass of chilled Dom Perignon champagne, poured from the bottle that sits beside them. In addition, guests who indulge in the Mediterranean Soak will enjoy feasting on sturgeon caviar.

    Additional Bath Menu options include:

Mexican Riviera Retreat, $99: Guests can ease into a siesta with a lime exfoliating body scrub with loofah. Then enjoy the perfect nightcap of a freshly made, all natural margarita with 100% agave tequila, premium triple orange liqueur and fresh squeezed limes.

Caribbean Calm, $99: Guests will feel like they are in the tropics while enjoying a passion fruit bath gel with exfoliator gloves, topped off with a hand-muddled Mojito prepared with Bacardi Superior, fresh mint and hand pressed limes.

Hawaiian Bloom, $99: Aloha! Guests will find their own tropical paradise by slipping into a plumeria milk bath with floating flowers and be treated to a coconut kiwi pineapple splash prepared with Bacardi Rock Coconut, pineapple juice, lemon lime soda with chunks of fresh pineapple and kiwi.

Alaskan Plunge, $99: Guests will experience refreshing relaxation with pine bath salts and a back scratcher. After soaking, guests can enjoy a cold pitcher of strawberry lemonade with Stolichnaya vodka, fresh strawberries and hand pressed lemons.

Great Island Oasis, $99: Guests will find they are in their own private oasis as they slip into a seaweed eucalyptus bath, complete with bath pillow and passion punch made with passion fruit liqueur, vodka, fresh fruit juices and sparkling wine.

Wonder waterfall, $49: Bath time should be fun time for the kids. The perfect time for kids to splash around with kiwi fruit berry bath bombs. Then treat them to a yummy kid-friendly strawberry and banana smoothie.

The drinks sure look yummy! Wonder if they can be ordered from the bar ? Will be GREAT if available.

  4. Sailed on the Epic November 16th and didn't have any problems or issues. It does sound as though since you are already so worried it that you might not be able to relax and enjoy. Do people not think there would be some sort of wait if everyone shows up for dinner or go on water slides at the same time, do you not experience a wait in these situations at home? I heard people complaining about waiting in line to be seated and not having the same wait staff every night, well then why would you book a free style cruise. I guess everyone's expectations are different, but I'm on vacation to relax and spend time with my loved ones....no cooking, cleaning, driving, etc. for a week. It just seems as though sometimes people think that just because they paid to go on this cruise (or even just vacation in general) that they are now royality or something. Things can go wrong in just every day life so why would being on vacation be any different. I probably could go on and on regarding different complaints that I heard while on the ship or have read in reviews but the majority seem so obvious and dumb especially considering you are confined on a ship with that many people....hallways crowded, elevators crowded but show just let out so I for one would expect that. We never felt like we had to pay at a speciality restaurant just to have good food. We did pay for the cirque show/dinner and thought the show was awesome! Didn't care for the desserts offered but that is my opinion and taste, maybe others did. It certainly can be a lot of walking and many flights of stairs, but since I tend to eat and drink more then the way I look at it I definitely could use the exercise. Just go with an open mind and make your own judgement.

LIKE! Couldn't have said it better myself :)

  5. We had a talk with our children the other day about the rules, and it doesn't seem to bother them at all that they have to observe all these rules onboard. They are aware that it's for their safety. I feel so much better after the talk, but will have to go through these rules again with them right before the cruise.

    Happy sailing everyone!

  6. I suppose you can, but you are asking for extra service and you won't be paying a corkage fee. Think of it this way.....would you ask the MDR to keep bottles of your families favorite soda and then have a waiter retrieve the soda when you were dining at a specialty restaurant?

You can simply bring the cider with you and keep in your cabin. When you wish to have it with a meal just bring it along with you. Much easier on the wait staff.

Oh no, that is why I am asking..not sure if we can bring that with us into the dining venues.. thought maybe they don't allow that. I wouldn't mind paying a little extra for the service if my children can enjoy the drink, or better yet, do they have it onboard?

Thank you kcwingwalker for your response ;)

  7. Hi all, I'm sorry if this question had been asked before..I know that we can bring sparkling apple cider on board, but can we give it to the maitre'd or waiter (or waitress :) ) in either the MDRs or specialty restaurants? My children enjoy them with certain meals (figure it is better than soda IMO).

TIA for any helpful insights that you seasoned cruisers can provide .I hope I don't get flamed for being so "tacky" :D:D
