  1. Did you hear any noise from the above deck or Spice?

We did not hear noise from the buffet. We did hear bass from the parties at Spice if we had the balcony door open but it wasn’t loud enough to keep us awake- I was no louder then “normal” ship noises (when the tv was on, we didn’t hear anything, even with the door open).

  2. We just got back from the Escape on Sunday. We were in room 15270- which is the angled balcony a few rooms in front of yours. We loved it! We picked that room because it was aft on the 15th floor and the angled balcony. The location is so convenient to the pools and buffet and we actually like the overhang. It rained the day we left NYC and the second day but we could sit out there since it had a good cover.

  3. We’ve been on RCL Oasis twice and there are 4 pools- 1 is saltwater and the other 3 were chlorine. I would assume that all Oasis ships are the same, so you might want to check into the Symphony more. We’ve only been on the Breakaway on NCL and that saltwater was harsh. For what it’s worth, our pool experience was way better on Oasis- even with more people, we never had a problem finding a chair and the pooled weren’t crowded. We were never able to find even 1 chair on Breakaway- even on port days.

  4. There’s a public sun deck on 18 that I don’t think many people know about (or maybe they think it’s part of vibe). It has awesome views all around for sail away. It was not crowded at all.

To get there, go forward and get to deck 17, there’s a bar there and Vibe, but there’s a set of stairs to the one side of the bar to go up to 18.

  5. I have a tree nut allergy and I haven't been on the Allure but the Oasis a couple times. I've told them when we book and they know when we give them our sea pass when we check in at the restaurant. We do MTD but we have been requesting our waiter for every night when we get a good one. I've found the, very good at telling me what I def can't have and checking when I order, some have me order a day in advance. I would suggest doing the fixed dining times so you're guaranteed the same waiter so you don't have to go through the whole thing every day.

I am a picky eater and take the chance at the WJ but I eat really basic stuff in general lol

For my allergy, I found the most issues with desserts.

  6. We went for a 4 night the beginning of December. We really liked it but I don't think I could do more then 4 nights- we have a 10 yr old and she'd get bored. It's very relaxing and a quick walk to everywhere (we did Oasis for our previous 2 trips so it was funny that everything was close).

The food was good but options are lacking IMO. We ate every dinner in the MDR and tried breakfast once, otherwise we ate lunches at WJ. I wish there'd be an equivalent to cafe promenade for snacks or even a quick pizza place.

    Do you have specific questions?

  7. We've been on Oasis twice (August 2015 and June 2016) and loved it. Last time we had a boardwalk balcony on the 12th floor. We were only 1 in from the aft so we could see the ocean- you'll have limited views but the 12th floor was really convenient to the pools.

We never had a problems getting a chair at the chlorine pools. The saltwater pool was usually packed with adults just hanging out and drinking in the pool. It looked fun but we have a 10 year old who wanted to swim - she hated the salt water so it worked out perfect for us. Pools were empty during port days. One tip I have is that the sports pool has chairs in the shade (towards the windjammer). We silly all met up there since no one wanted to be in the sun too much.

Oasis is my favorite RCL ship.

  8. We just stayed in 12723 on the Oasis and the view of the ocean was nice and you can definitely watch the shows.

The rooms are a long walk from the elevators and it was noisy at night. The noise was kind of muted but it got a bit loud. We were exhausted every night and would leave the dreamworks channel on to fall asleep so it didn't bother us.

  9. To address a couple things mentioned here: we just got off the Oasis this morning. We had 2 boardwalk balconies next to each other and they do split up families. We each went to different locations. For another thing- we mustered at the Aqua theater and they went to one of the dining rooms, so 1 was inside and 1 was outside. Neither had enough seats for everyone to watch the video, so lots of standing.

  10. My daughter turned 9 on the Oasis last August. We had done 3 Disney cruises prior but she asked to go on the Oasis again so we're going again in June. We never had an issue with the pools on the Oasis compared to the tiny pools on the Dream.

Compared to DCL, she hated the RC kids club. She went once and never again. She's already told us that she's not ever going on our next trip and that's fine with us, there's plenty of other stuff to do.

We went to Eastern last time, so Western will be new for us. We don't have any excursions booked and we're not 100% sure if we'll even get off the ship- depends on the Zika situation. It's not really a big deal, we're happy to stay on the ship while everyone else is gone.

  11. My 9 yr old daughter had a different experience on the Oasis, she hated the kids club. We had been on the Disney Dream 3 times prior and she loved The Oceaneer club. She loved eating dinner fast and going to the club while we ate but she wouldn't even do that on the Oasis. The Oceaneer club was huge compared to Oasis, she likes to do her own thing and felt like she had to participate with the group on the Oasis.

The upside to this is that if you asked her which ship she liked better, she'd pick Oasis. In fact, she liked it so much that we're going back again this summer. She has already told me that she won't go to the kid's club and I'm fine with that. I work full time and she's in school, so we don't see each other as much as we'd like so I like to hang out with her on vacation.

  12. Thanks for all the suggestions.. if you see a little rugrat in the MDR during lobster night, surrounded by toys and electronics and still making a ruckus, i apologize in advance! I'll kick my husband out with my DS and eat their share of Lobster! :p

Whether it's formal night or any night, they can speed up your serving. I always find the MDR to be extremely loud (just because of the amount of people there) so I highly doubt anyone would be bothered by your son.

One tip have if you feel like you need to leave, they will pack your dessert to go. We've done that when our little one was extremely tired and just didn't want to sit anymore.

  13. Awesome to know!!!!! Which sailing are you on? We are June 11th.

Always nice to have the same waitstaff each night because they get to know your preferences. [emoji5]

We're June 4th. Did you check out your roll call? My sailing doesn't have many posts as of now but I think it could be fun to "talk" to others on the same trip.

  14. We'll be on the Oasis in June too! Last time we made reservations online but the first night, we loved our waiter. On the way out after eating we spoke to the maitre'd and they changed our reservations to his table for every night. It worked out great because I like having the same waiters every nigh but no one else cares.

  15. For what it's worth- we were on the Oasis last June and a girl (I say girl because she was younger then me, probably in her mid 20s) walked in with cut off, holey jean shorts and flip flops. The people working there didn't bat an eye and say her. Everyone was watching to see what they'd do lol

  16. It depends on what you like to drink and where you're going. I've only done 1 recent RC cruise and I got the Royal Replenish. I think it was $19 a day and it was basically any non alcoholic drinks. It was the Caribbean in the summer so I got non alcoholic frozen drinks since it was hot but it also included was pop, fresh squeezed oj and bottled water. I loved the fresh oj and stockpiled bottles of water for excursion and to keep in the fridge for whenever so it was worth it to me. DH got the beer package and he definitely drank enough to make it worth it. You don't have to all get the same package like on some other cruise lines.

  17. The only thing we've done at Nassau is swim with dolphins at Atlantis and sea lions at Blue Lagoon. I liked Blue Lagoon a lot, they pick you up in a boat and it was a nice ride. We surprised our 9 year old with the sea lions for her birthday and the 3 of us had a great time.

I'm the kind of person who is happy to never get off the ship, that's the best time to swim!

  18. MDR: Most mornings we ate in the MDR and wore shorts and flip flops, that's fine for lunch too. I don't know what the "official" recommended attire is, but I never felt out of place. People wore ripped, skin tight jeans to dinner so I felt like shorts were fine for breakfast lol.

We liked the breakfast, there are normal breakfast stuff and then they have a theme each day, like one day was chocolate themed- everyone loved the choc banana bread.

WJ: We don't like buffets so we avoided the Windjammer, except one morning before an early excursion and lunch a couple days. It's casual so shorts and flip flops are fine. I also ran up there from the pool to grab fries and wore a cover up, it was fine. Breakfast was fine but I hated lunch, everything was cold which I thought was weird since it was always packed so I would have thought turnover was good. We never ate dinner there.

Wipeout: wear anything. It's quick service like hamburgers at lunch. I don't think we ever went for breakfast, so I'm not sure what they have.

JR: we ate breakfast there, it was good, just a basic menu but the guys liked the egg sandwiches.

Frozen yogurt is between the pools. Snacks are good in Cafe Promenade and the Park Cafe

We are lunch at Park Cafe on embarkation day- I think it's hit or miss as far as crowds go. When we got there it was empty, but it quickly got packed and then was dead again (we hung out in Central Park for a while and crowd watched). I really liked the make your own salad there, they had some different stuff compared to a regular salad bar.

I think that's put opinion about what you asked. We were on Oasis last August and we're excited to go back in June.

  19. We were on the Oasis last August- our daughter turned 9 during that week and went to the kids club once and hated it. She never went back and has told me she won't go back when we're on the Oasis this June.

On the other hand, we took 3 DCL Dream cruises and she loved the kids club- she didn't spend much time during the day but she'd get ready for dinner and go, then she'd eat with us and go back until we were done eating.

I think it depends on the kid- Disney has so much more to do but it's not strictly planned and RC only has planned times, she likes to do her own thing. It's not a big deal for us, she's good with going anywhere as long as there's a pool so we usually swim all day and we don't really need the club.
