  1. Hi

We are cruising on Sky Princess in October. We are from the UK & don't get our medallions till embarkation in Southampton.

Has anyone purchased any jewelry to hold their medallion, other than from Princess?

If so where did you find it? We are trying to find a nice bracelet for the evening. I know Princess have them onboard but they seem quite pricey in my opinion.

Also can anyone confirm the actual size in mm of the medallion.

    Thank you

  2. I am boarding Iona tomorrow with my parents who are both in their 80s. Not wishing to wear them out on the first day as I understand that she is a large ship and has many restaurants. Having never been on Iona before could someone tell me which restaurant is used for the lunch for guests on Caribbean level & above, please as I would like to take them straight there after boarding.

    Thank you

  3. Hi all

I asked the same question re middle names on the roll call for out cruise. Another passenger has rug P&O and was told it doesn't matter as long as the 1st name is correct as this is what is on the cruise card and that the middle names are correct on the personliser.

P&O said they were looking to change the wording on the check in.

  4. I am on Iona on the 29th Oct. Mum n dad are on deck 4 and have a boarding time of 1.30. I haven't had a cabin allocation but a boarding time of 12.

I am on Caribbean loyalty and they are on Atlantic. I think loyalty level makes a difference to boarding times.

We will be arriving together and boarding together has never been a problem before.

Has anyone had probs with the on line check in. It just won't work on my phone but hopefully try the laptop later.

And pray tell, where did you get this information from? It is  impossible to have your 2nd booster  unless you are vulnerable or over 75. The rules are that if it is more than 270 days since your 2nd jab then you need a booster. Look on the P&O website to check but please post the correct info  as you will create panic if you do not.

I had an email from P&O telling me so

I'm on that one.  I noticed nearly every aft cabin on all decks except 12 are currently available.  Was beginning to think they weren't in use but realise now that savers are only offering forward and mid forward/mid aft cabins.  My guess is they'll mainly go to deck 8 until the last minute.

As I want to see Mr Barlow if possible I'm happy if she's not full up as it gives me more chance in the raffle!

Im on G236 with my parents & niece. (Just joined the roll call). Are they raffleing Gary Barlow

  7. Thank you for the replies.

I went on Iona and we had loyalty lunch in Pearl restaurant, our daughter and her boyfriend were allowed to join us as well and they were in a different cabin. We didn’t expect them to be allowed in but very pleased they were. It was a great start to our Fjord cruise and as her boyfriend hadn’t been on a cruise before he was blown away with it - think the free flowing beers helped with that!

Thanks for all the replies. That's great news.

  8. Hi all

I'm taking my parents & my niece on Iona on 29th Oct.

Maybe someone who has recently been on Iona could answer a couple of questions.

I'm a regular cruiser and usually once on board I go to the loyalty lunch.

However I haven't been on Iona before. Is the loyalty lunch still going ahead? I was on Ventura in Jan and it did then.

My parents are not as high on the loyalty scheme and are not in my cabin & my niece is only on the first level but is sharing my cabin. I couldn't possibly leave them. Would they be allowed in? What level do you have to be on?

Also does the penisular lunch go ahead?

Finally, I believe p&o state that there are only one formal night per week on Iona as opposed to the normal 2 but when I look at the itinery on the cruise personliser I can only see 1 in the whole 14 night's.

Has anyone been on a 2 week cruise recently who could tell me how many there were.

Sorry if this info has been asked elsewhere and thanks in advance for any help.

  9. Hi

I have booked 14nights on Iona on 29th Oct.

I am taking my neice & my parents who are both in their 80s.

Being a frequent cruiser I get a loyalty discount when I book my excursions before we sail.

As far as I can see I can book for myself and my neice who is sharing my cabin but how do I book for my parents or is this not allowed? I'm sure I have done it on board before but do not want to risk the trips being sold out as my parents can't get about independently any longer.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Aren't they on your Cruise Personaliser (or My P&O Cruises as they call it now)? I looked at our booking yesterday and they are under each day on the calendar.

Thank you for all your replies.

Sorry but I've looked on my cruise personalizer and I cant find them.

I've looked under itinerary, then by day and by week. Under dress code it says for more info. it says select "before you sail" then "important to know" and then "packing" but this just tell you about packing, not how many nights are formal.

  11. Hi Fellow Cruisers

On a 35 night cruise I assume there will be 10 formal evenings and a tropical night.

I remember that I found a list of which nights were formal or themed BEFORE I went on a cruise but I cannot find it anywhere now and it may not have been a P&O cruise.

Do P&O supply that info or do I have to wait until I'm on board? Although the latter doesn't help with packing.

Is the issue that the person had their 2nd jab less than 3 month ago? If not, as your cruise is still over 7 days away, they could get a booster at a vaccination centre tomorrow. Our local TV News was reporting tonight that whilst there were huge queues at the beginning of the week, there have been virtually no queues today and up to 15% of those who had booked a booster are not turning up. They put this down to people being concerned that they might get an adverse reaction to the jab over Christmas.

Yes she cant have it because its not 3 months.

  13. I received an email from P&O at 3pm this afternoon stating that they are updating their vaccination policy and anyone over the age of 18 who hasn't had a booster, will not be allowed to embark.

One of our party cannot have her booster yet and now our holiday plans are ruined.

    Anyone else had this?

Was due to sail on 3rd Jan on Ventura's 35 night Caribbean.

    Hi Megabear

Sorry for the delay in posting.

I'm very confused. My friend who is travelling with me sent me a link and asked does this effect us. I took a screenshot of the result.

Now I cannot find it again.

If you hadnt replied I would have happily got on board without booking a test.

I can see that this refers to testing before arrival and not 2 days after so sorry for the mis information.

I cannot see this at all. Do you mean the pre departure test:

From Tuesday 7 December (GMT) onwards all people aged 12 years and over must take a PCR or LF (lateral flow) COVID-19 test before they travel to England from abroad. They must take the test in the 2 days before their journey to England departs:

    • For those people on a cruise in the days before returning to England, this can be provided and organised on board at a cost of £18 (POC)/$25 (CUN). This will be charged to your on-board account.
    • If you are entering England via a direct flight or an indirect flight (a flight with multiple stops or connecting flights) you must take the test in the 2 days before your first flight.

These rules apply to everyone, whether they qualify as ‘fully vaccinated’ or not."

From my current issue with PandO where they cannot  give me or are unable to give me information on the current situation with Caribbean ports of call and their arrangements for getting passengers ashore to meet their excursions...   I spend much of my time researching travel. It is clear to me PandO and maybe other cruise lines are not being honest in they way they provide what is important information which would impact on whether or not someone would want to cancel their cruise..... Excursion are critical to me wife and I , and if this is the case with you, I would think very carefully about booking any UK cruise line Caribbean cruise, or in fact any cruise where there are multi country ports each of which will have their own pre- trip PCR regulations... We are looking to cancel our cruise as PandO have not been honest about how port visits are likely to be impacted on our cruise. All shore excursions will be subject to PCR tests costing GBP35 per test - sio if you book shore excursions every day, this will cost you about GBP560 per couple...  PandO are blatently dishonest in saying PCR tests MAY be require for a couple of ports - no... it's every port..  They are not saying this, they are not updating customers on significant changes like this, the onus is on us to have to keep checking... These PCR changes came in after we booked. It is a significant change and PandO have to keep their side of the contract. We are pursuing a full refund with them and await to see how important honesty, trust and fair treatment is important for their developing cruise business..  My advice, from our current experience, if shore excursions are important to you, for any cruise where a number of countries are being visited, I would strongly recommend you don't book it, and that will be my position on future cruising... period.. Happy to discuss anytime to help fellow cruisers not waste money and to be treated fairly... so sultan4swing@aol.com will get me ..... Contractual responsibilities need to be balanced back in the customers favour, and currently they are not...

According to P&O website PCR tests are £25 and antigen tests are £18.
