  1. Again, probably a stupid question.

But, TYPICALLY, on a 7 night cruise, how much extra do you spend? Above what you've already prepaid?

I know there is a wide variety of people, habits, indulgences, preferences, etc.

Buying excursions onboard or just taking a taxi and being on your own.

Buying a pair of sandals at Nassau or buying an expensive piece of art.

Eating at the buffet the whole time, or room service with tips.

As I get ready, I was just wondering a, as we say here, 'ballpark' figure.

    Thanks.

We are first time cruisers ourselves, and I can tell you so far without even boarding the ship, we have spent $750. $440 for alcohol/soda package for 2 people. 2 excursions at $70 ($35pp) + 1 excursion at $170 ($85pp). We don't plan on using the spa but might end up buying something on ship or at ports and of course tipping, so it will probably end up around $1000 total. Things add up quickly if you're not paying attention. Just keep track of what you spend and decide if it's worth it to you or not. Good Luck!

  2. Hi,

We are taking our first family cruise this Spring on Disney Magic. We will be renting a car in Palm Beach and driving over to the port as we will be visiting grandparents before the cruise. Are there major car rental offices/lots at or near the port? We are trying to figure out where to drop off a rental and if that does indeed make the most sense. Additionally, we are looking into transportation to Orlando airport after the cruise. Can anyone recommend a RELIABLE, mostly hassle-free and less expensive mode of transportation? We currently have a reservation with the Disney shuttle service but at $35.00 a person...that seems high?

    Thanks!

Hi, we are using Cocoa Beach Shuttle from Orlando Airport to Port Canaveral at $29 per person. That doesn't include a tip for the driver. We will be renting a car from Payless Car Rental, but I'm not sure if you can drop off there. Hope this helps. Cocoa Beach Shuttle phone number is 321-631-4144 and Payless Car Rental is 321-613-5639.

  3. Does anyone have a copy of the Park Cafe Menu??

    Hi,

I found this website that may be very helpful. It's beyondships.com. You can search by ship for menus, cabin photos, daily programs, etc. Some info is outdated but will give you an idea of what to expect. Example: you might find menu for Enchantment of the Seas from 2010 or daily compass from 2009, etc. Lots of pics, pdf's and lots more detailed info. Great site to check out for first timers and picky eaters and anyone just curious.

Best of luck and Happy New Year!

  4. want some good me time go to the solarium during or after 2nd seating of dinner

I've read that the pools close early. Do you know about the Enchantment of the seas. Was looking forward to floating in the pool and watching the stars but don't know if it's an option. Also, when do the hot tubs close? I understand they need to clean and put chemicals but would like to use them at night.
