  1.     I saw somewhere that there is pickleball on Liberty of the Seas. I assume it's just one court? Does anyone know if it requires reservations, and do they have balls/paddles? Travelling with a large group of interested people. Also, just curious as to how they added this on? I was thinking maybe on a former basketball court? Seem like I remember seeing empty basketball areas on many of the ships we have been on!

  2.   Got my refund this week for the balance I was owed on a cruise to depart 3/29/20.We waited for RCCL to cancel, then requested a refund instead of FCC. We had recieved  the tax and port charges but were waiting for the remainder of the money to be credited back. Celebrity was much faster, that cruise wasn't until June and we were refunded quickly. Just wanted to let people know they are coming, just slowly. Waiting for the day when we can cruise again!

  3. I was scheduled to depart out of Miami on 3/29 on Empress of the Seas. Need to fly from Newark., NJ.  My deciding factor was worrying I would bring something back to my neighbors, elderly parents, children and two grandbabies. I feel by the time i flew home a week into April things could be much worse and I'd feel like I had to self quarantine for two weeks. Not wanting to do that, plus husband worried about being held on the ship if a passenger falls ill. I am a nurse and not an alarmist but this one is scary, highly contagious and I don't want it in my family nest.  I feel like if I went and ended up giving it to someone when I came home  they would have a right to be angry. We thought about just using the airline tickets and  taking a Florida beach vacation but I still don't know what shape the airports would be in to come home. I have a cruise booked in June out of Bayonne that won"t involve flying and I hope that one will be a go!  Stay safe!

  4. I would like to add that fellow cruisers need to be very careful of comments they make out loud complaining about perceived children in the adullt pool. My youngest daughter was on college break the spring before her senior year  and cruised with my husband and I. Some young adults look much younger and it is both rude and insensitive to make remarks about how he or she can't possibly be 16 or 17.  Unless someone is acting loud and childish people should mind their own business. She was a 20 year old young lady and every day it was somebody else who felt they needed to explain the rules in case we couldn't read! Enjoy your cruise!

  5. We are on the march 9th cruise but the last time we stopped in Port Canaveral we went to the Kennedy Space Center and loved it. I was really impressed and didn't think I would find it that fascinating. We took a cab so we could come back when we wanted. It was in January a few years ago during the polar vortex and we were freezing in our Northface jackets!

We have been to Nassau quite a few times. This time we are doing the day pass at the British Colonial Hilton. We love that you can walk there and are in sight of the ship. The little bar and food area by the pool was nice and everyone friendly. Not really a nice stretch of beach but the pool was nice and we will hope for Coco Cay for the beach day. Hope this helps some.

  6. Hi, Thanks for your post!! We intend to go back to Darkwood next week on our cruise, we were there about a year ago. We loved that it wasn't crowded and thought the water was beautiful. Where did they put this bouncy thing?? They didn't have anything like that when we were there, Thanks!! Cheryl:)

  7. There is a large liquor store on the right when you walk off the ship. We got some Ma Dou Dou flavored island rum in hand painted bottles to take home for our kids, and of course for us. We got it on the way back on the ship so I can't answer your other question

  8. I am an RN and got a call within the last year from a woman at the port in Bayonne that was not being allowed onto the cruise ship because she was pregnant and had no note. I faxed her a note from the office and that was not good enough. I got on the phone with the RCCL staff and asked exactly what the note needed to say. I re-faxed a new note and told her I didn't really understand the commotion, she was only 14 weeks along. Apparently they seemed to think she was further along. If it was me, I would bring a note on the office letterhead or rx pad. It just takes a few people unaware of the existing policy to cause a lot of commotion. If our office was closed I don't know if she would have gotten on.

I have also never seen a mosquito on a ship, nor have I or my children been bitten that I know of while on a cruise, have fun!

  9. We did the Segway tour in St Kitts. We really enjoyed it and they met us right outside the ship area. We came back to the ship for lunch and then walked up the hill to a pretty garden with an infinity pool, bar,wi fi for a little while. Great view of ship/harbor we got great pics. I think 5.00 admission and covered chairs/umbrellas at pool. Easily walkable along the water and then at the top just past the statue is the entrance.

  10. We just walked across the street and then down a block or so to Weisers beach bar. The beach was gorgeous but quiet, not a lot of people until around lunch time, food was fine in the restaurant, good rum punch. Chairs and umbrellas were cheap, we will go back again next time. However there was no party atmosphere if that's what you are looking for. We were looking for uncrowded beach with quiet lo :)
