FWIW I was with Steve on the Splendor. He wasn't my favorite at all. Not a bad guy, just not memorable at all. Nothing like Cookie or Dr. E or Mat or any of those guys.

also how do I find out exactly what time they close for lunch at the howard Johnson? If they close from 12-2pm and I get in port at 1pm that doesn't help much...the rep on the phone at avis said they have written in their system closed only from 12:30-1pm? Hummm... who knows for sure? Anyone else take a cruise that got in at 1pm and rent from howard Johnson?

I see the rates are much cheaper with avis at the howard Johnson a short walk from the pier....Since our ship comes in at 1pm and doesn't leave until 10pm can I leave the car at the howard Johnson or at the pier after they close?

Anyone do this?

When you check which their website what location are you choosing because there is not a port location online.

Our ship doesn't leave until 10 pm. Can you return that late at Howard Johnson?

We really want to get a rental car and see the island. We are there from 2pm-10pm. Lagun beach and Shete Boca are the must see! What else Isa65 can you recommend?

Do the rental car company's at the port stay open until 10pm to return that late?

Are the floating shops still open if we allow time say 9pm-10pm?

Also a dinner recommendation to watch the sunset?
