  1. Just for information and I don't know how useful it will be.

On our recent cruise because of problems, P & O gave everyone 20% of the cost of their cruise back in the form of a credit towards a next cruise booking.

Whilst we were happy having already booked , one gentleman made a BIG fuss and managed to get his credited for his booked cruise with Cunard!!

  2. We actually booked a cruise on Adonia whilst on board Arcadia last week. Four days later we received a letter in our cabin!!

Went down to reception and joined a massive queue to re-book something else. Lots of very unhappy people who also booked whilst on board. The loyalty manager honesty knew nothing about the sale and was as unhappy as we were.

We were lucky and managed to get last balcony cabin on Oriana to the Canaries. Although this trip is for 15 nights and our original trip was for 7 nights, so P&O gained again.......

  3. Hi folks. Anyone on this cruise to the Canaries leaving Southampton on 8th May 2018?

We have never been on Oriana before and we are concerned about the apparent noise and vibration we've read about.

We had to change to this cruise whilst on Arcadia last week when our previously booked cruise on Adonia was cancelled!!

  4. My husband and I have been on Arcadia many times and just love her. She is a very spacious ship, with plenty of opportunities to sun bathe or relax indoors with a good book. The choice of restaurants are excellent and perhaps we are easily pleased, but we found the food delicious in all of them.

The cabins have everything you need and are very comfortable.

We enjoy the lectures and find plenty of choice for entertainment.

Personally we never have any trouble with the staff and any problems are very quickly sorted.

Do give her a try - you won't be disappointed.

  5. Yes there may only be those mentioned, but they can be entered from either side. They each have three washing machines but only ONE iron and ironing board which is a bit of a problem on a long cruise (I speak from experience!!).

Occasionally when there is a problem with the machines I have found they are mended quite quickly, however the only problem is other people. Once I had my washing removed from the machine and thrown onto the floor because for some reason the machine didn't start when I set it - I thought it had and left!!! When I went back half hour later I was told by other passengers what had happened. So I could only put it down to someone in greater need than me at the time and not let it spoil my wonderful holiday.

By the way, there is a wonderful laundry service offered if you want something special washed and pressed.

    Have a great cruise.

  6. Hi there Ian,

We are booked on Arcardia J408 (28th June 2014) 7 days to the Norwegian fjords.

Having been on her several times, I know that most of the balcony cabins are very similar. However those at the back (fairly new ones) do have a very long balcony and my friends, who always have them, love them.

Do let me know if you book onto this cruise. (It has been reduced in price, so we have just received an onboard credit!!)

  7. What a shame to lose the silver service - I always thought it one of life's little luxuries when cruising!

I too spotted the little paragraph informing me that they are no longer going to serve the vegetables separately at dinner, but have them already served on the plate "so your waiters have more time to get to know you and talk to you" - who are they kidding!!!

It just means less waiters - the waiters who are there will now have more tables to serve. On every voyage we have gone on, half the fun was getting to know your waiters through their service - one who served the main meal and the other one coming behind with the veg etc. Have they thought about waste - we object to being served with vegetables we don't like!!

We always thought silver service was the order of the day on P & O as on other shipping lines.

We are disappointed as we have to experience this new service for ourselves on 28th June 2014 on J408 to the Norwegian Fjords.

    What do others think?

Anyone else on this particular cruise next year?

However I will have chance to experience it all for myself on my next cruise on 28th June 2014 (J408) to the Norwegian Fjord

  9. I would like to start a thread about P & O announcement on their new dining arrangements .
