  1. Friends and I are on the Ruby on the 27th Nov. sailing and made our specialty dining reservations earlier this month...today I checked the Medallion app and all except one reservation have vanished in the app for all of us and replaced with MDR. Since you pay in advance, we checked our credit card accounts and  no refunds seen yet. We are a group that usually skips the MDR save for maybe 1 or 2 nights, so each night we had something booked. Hope we can get it sorted out in advance.

I very much dislike that there's zero confirmation that you have made a reservation in the form of an email or something other than seeing it in the app...good thing we took screenshots.

  2. I'm surprised by all the comments suggesting to try it again. Even if the OP is not complaining specifically about the wasted money why would anyone want to throw away their money hoping for better results. Personally I would feel foolish if I took that advice and the next time the experience was (also) poor.

Well, this is a very YMMV situation - so it's reasonably safe to assume a different waiter/chef/ship/piece of meat would yield a different experience. Quite possibly a good one. $29 is worth it for me for another shot.

  3. It is about 1.25 miles from the port area. As you leave the ship, walk straight ahead until you get to the street called the Bay Road. Turn right and continue walking along the Bay Rd about a mile. You will walk past Avis on your left & Hertz on your right on your way to Thrifty. Thrifty will be on your left. They have a sign.

Thanks very much for the info Paul!!

  4. First post here; I booked through my TA and was told I was getting $100 OBC for whatever, but when I checked my booking it said for shore excursions. Concerned I went back to my TA who advised that they had contacted Carnival and it was explained to them that the $100 could be used for any onboard purchase (drinks, food, etc.). I did my own detective work and called Carnival directly and spoke to a CSR who said that it was absolutely ONLY for shore excursions booked while onboard.

So, Carnival is consistent in being inconsistent.

Either way, I got a sweet deal; so I'm going to just go with it...
