  1. I have this vision of the stampede that will ensue once the doors open as ticket holders scamper towards the UNRESERVED seats. Or maybe even better, passengers bringing sleeping bags on board so they can stake out "their place in line" right after breakfast that morning. That vision includes those calm interactions between guests as they challenge each other over "those seats are taken" responses. Or finally the relaxed manner in which a ticket holder tells Carnival staff that "there is no way in hell they are going to sit behind that pillar. I paid the same price that everyone else did and expect to be able to see the stage". The concept of paying for entertainment adds a whole new dynamic to enjoying performances on the ship. Or maybe I am just being unrealistic. Only problem is, I doubt it.

Very good point I will aka John how they will control this

  2. Paid entertainment after all the cutbacks? Who didn't see that one coming.

Open seating? Disaster waiting to happen. Iceberg! Right ahead!

On John's Facebook page this morning he mentioned a small group of people who are determined to complain about everything that Carnival does. I can't think who he was talking about can you?

  3. I guess they think we are stupid.

Gradually scale back production enterrainment, replace it with ametuer hour, and then replace that with sharge for entertainment.

Raise the fares for those cruises while you're at it based in supply and demand.

    Unlesspay for entertainment is rejected.

Problem is, these are all B acts, or less.

I am shocked and horrified that you are not happy with this announcement. I would never have guessed it.

  4. Why ease up?? Is Carnival some poor little creature to be coddled?

Is this Cruise Critic or Cruise Cheerleader?

To me this silly move is a way to get more $$ - charge for these so called entertainers and then jack up the price of the cruise

what are people who do not wish to see them going to do? No show for them . As someone pointed out - arrival in port is later that day...

and price of cruise just went up - you pay for ticket on top of that

John Wrote on his Facebook page that the ships would be staying in Port until 1 AM. He also wrote that there would be comedy shows that artists and lots of other live music. I see no evidence that the price of the cruise has risen since this was announced. It definitely is not cruise cheerleader because that would

be a happy page and I am sure we would not find you on a happy page now would we.

  5. Heald just posted an update to what ships will be receiving the new menus:

    Carnival Inspiration - February 3rd

    Carnival Imagination - February 16

Not sure if this is actually breaking news but last I had heard role out for Liberty was scheduled for January. I guess they have adjusted their plans. Personally I am disappointed, I really liked the look of the new menus despite all of the complaints I’ve read here. Change can be good, but people are always so against it. Oh well, maybe I will get to try it next year (if it sticks around)!

His first name is John, just in case you didn't know

  6. We just got of the Sapphire Princess & once again, didn't leave impressed!

There are no TV channels, like ABC, NBC...The TV channels they have, run on a loop. We were watching the same episodes of the Love Boat this last weekend as we saw in Oct.

I ordered wine glasses from room service, and one was filthy with lipstick all over it!

No room service, not even coffee this morning...since is was disembarkation day:(

Miss the piano bar & comedy club:(

We have one more booked for Feb. and then it will be back to the Funships for us! We were on a 100% fare that goes toward a 7 day special, so went ahead and booked as soon as the credits appeared this morning. We had to book with an outside TA, since Princess site was 400.00 more per person for the same category. No matching of other sites with Princess.

I did my share of gambling in the casino & was told I didn't play enough. I would have qualified had I done the same play on Carnival. I usually always get a gift basket & sometimes cash also.

    Miss feeling special...At least on Carnival they call me by name;

We had to ask for robes for our balcony & couldn't be delivered until the 2nd day. They were so small & thin, they were useless!

I am craving warm chocolate melting cake!

Carnival gives you a drink for being repeat guests...Princess doesn't.

Thanks for letting me vent! I wish our next cruise was going to be on a Funship, but we will be back:)

Nice post. It's a shame that because its a positive comment about Carnival it will not get anywhere near the number of reads and replies here as a negative one does, says a lot. Good read though. Thank you

  7. There is one poster, posting under 4-5 different names, that tries to whip up a frenzy every time a ship is going into dry dock. Starting multiple threads about the same thing, with nothing but pure speculation and rumor. Their guess is as good as yours. ;)

The correct information Comes from John's Facebook page as he has he done today.
