  1. First, you will only be able to reserve one comedy show per sailing. Once you board the ship, should you like to see a show more than once, you can do so. But you may only reserve once.

The comedy show varies slightly. They do a show for families, a show that is mostly improve (which will change each time) and a show that is a bit improve and the rest skits.

One comedy show per night, or is it one show that is kinda the same for the entire cruise!? I thought their would be lot more!???

  2. the two pictured above have no passports and have been on 11 cruises between them. No picture id either.

Thanks for the tip on not having to get passport for the kids, my wife & I were just talking about the hassle of going and getting them for the kids when we came across this topic.

If you don't mind me asking, out of the 11 times taking your young boys, did you/or your son come across any pitfalls, like not having some type of picture ID for them... I would hate to invest in my big trip and get all the way down to Miami and have any problems...

Did I mention I have "Murphy Law" tattooed on my forehead it seems sometimes ;)

    Matt

  3. That for is only for when you're taking one of your kid's friends, or similar. You will need a letter authorizing you to take the kids out of the country. The form will not take care of this issue

Thank you for the info, could you point me in the right direction for the form I would need :D

  4. Hi smeyer418, she still has her rights, for whatever her reasons she was satisfied only having her boys a few weekends a years when she lived in the same city, and now that she moved away it's once a year for a couple of days...

The reason I was asking was when I looked on the NCL website they have a form "PARENT / GUARDIAN CONSENT & RELEASE FORM" and on that form at the top it says, "This form must be completed if a minor is not travelling with at least one parent or legal guardian." So I thought...being their dad, that's was going to be good enough and I would not need a letter or form????????

  5. There shouldn't be any issues with just a BC as long as the minor is with both parents~if not then they should have a notarized letter from other parent stating it is okay for them to take them out of the country~

Ok here's a monkey wrench for this topic I been wondering about for months and even my T.A. didn't know when I booked. I have primary placement of my 13 & 9 year old boys and their mother moved to the other side of the country (I have talk to her once in the past year when she stood the boys up saying she was coming to vistit them at X-Mas and never showed up...)

I married 3 years and I'm taking my very happy family on our first family cruise. Is there going to be a problem if their step-mom is not there real mom???

I dread the thought of having to track the boys mom down to get some kind of a letter from her? Any Ideas?

  6. I am going April 19 with my 3 kids (13, 10, 8) and it was my understanding that the games in the kids rooms were included but in the "bar" areas it was extra. But I am not positive

Hi Asdjl, that why I was asking because even when I asked the NCL booking agent about the games she didn't know what cost and what did not.

My kids are not going to be able to pass up all the games in the kid & teen area without wanting to play all of them... and seeing the pics of the teen/kid club is one of the reasons I booked.

After out get back in April could you please let me know, thanks.

    Matt

  7. Yes They do cost extra and to play the games you just swipe your key card so caution your boys, maybe you can set a daily spending limit so they dont over due

Hey tjaker thanks for your insight; I read somewhere today that the kid/teen party cost extra, can you enlighten me on any extra cost for the kids stuff? (two boys 9 & 13)

I'm not whining but after $2200 for the ship plus tip of $336, and airfare of $1400. I'm sitting here having buyers remorse

  8. My husband and I went on the Oasis of the Seas in 2012 and absolutely loved it! We are cruising in April and bringing our 3 kids (5, 7 & 9) along for their first cruise ever on the Getaway. I chose the getaway over Oasis because I felt like while the Oasis was great for my husband and I we noticed that our kids would not meet the height and weight requirements on some of the activities. While the Getaway seems to offer more for them with the Slides, rope course, trampoline etc. I have never been on NCL only Royal Caribbean and Carnival (which I will never do again). So my question... Is NCL comparable to Royal Caribbean or will nothing live up to the Oasis? Just want to prepare myself and adjust my expectations. I know we will have a great vacation no matter what but just want to know what to expect. Thank you in advance for your opinion:)

I can't wait to read your review when you get back!

I just booked yesterday and this will be our first ever Family Vacation in Dec., right before X-Mas on the Getaway. My wife and I have gone once a year for the past three now and I am hooked, but I have always felt guilty not taking my two sons, SO when I told them this Dec. we are all going I have never seen my two Boys (age 9 & 13) so excited!

  9. O Sheehans is really large compared to some other ships spanning both sides of the ship overlooking the central atrium and a really huge projection screen. We ate there a few times and food was always good, I loved the fish and chips and my wife loved the corned beef on rye, mozzarella sticks good too.

Hello MSC, I was wondering about the room service menu while on-board the Divina.

I have been reading a couple post that say the room service on the Divina is very "Limited?" And other post that say their is a "Charge" for room service??? $3.50 per item???

On vacation last year on RCCL my wife was tired and went to bed at 8:00pm a couple night in a row so I found myself sitting in the room watching TV and having to have a late night 10pm great steak sandwich delivered to the room those two nights. And I love having bacon & egg delivered to my room in the morning and eating on my deck watching the waves!

    Only 6 days to Go!

  11. There is a copy of the room service menu on here I did look for it but can't seem to find it. I think you can have a light breakfast in the cabin which is free but all other room service there is a fee. I have had the steak sandwich from RCCL and it was lovely.

    Judith

Boy, I have looked all over here and can't find room service menu...

NOW that I know we will be getting charged extra I am just real curious what the prices & selections are going to be?

Dang it, living in redneck Wisconsin their is not to many opportunity to have room service, so the two RCCL cruise ships I have been on I felt like a king.

I wonder what the fees are? Has anyone order room service since the Divina has been in the US in the past 1.5 months????

  13. Dress-Code = after reading this I'm now debating if I should bring a couple of suits or not, the dress code sounds a lot more laid back then what I had been reading in the past.

Room Service = how was the room service menu on the Divina I had read it is very limited? And was there a charge for room service???

  16. Just wanted to say thanks for all the nice comments, and also wanted to cuss out photobucket for taking so long to upload photos....that being said since I am at the end of day one in my notes , I am gonna call it an end for today for me...tomorrow I will let you know my experience in the dining room for breakfast,I will take on some complaints that other reviewers had head to head, and have some ****Observations**** good night all !

! WOW ! your review is GREAT, I feel like I'm with you on the boat ;)

I am sailing on Divina next Saturday!!!!! and can't wait to get out of my -15 degree weather here in Wisconsin! With much of the Divina reviews being all over the place, I have been reading all the info I can get...

When we get off the boat on the 18th we have until 9pm before our flight leaves, any ideas on what we could do around that area? I was thinking of just renting a car and driving around all day, but who knows...

  17. Cruise-A-Hoy, thanks, you answered a few questions I had.

I'm sailing Jan. 12 and with all the mixed hit-&-miss reviews I have read in the past I was real nervous about my once a year vacation being a bust...

In a lot of reviews people were commenting about getting "nickeled & dimed", did you experience any of that?

  18. The MSC Divina Traveller App is only accessible onboard the ship. You don't need to purchase a WiFi package to access and it is completely free. To access the app, just open up a web browser on your smartphone and you will be prompted to login with your Internet ID that can be found on your cruise card.

    Hope this helps!

THANKS MSC for the reply to this post see you next month :)

  19. I -----------------, agree to the following rules and Mom and dad can add rules as they see fit.

    KIDS CRUISE CONTRACT

This needs to be an exciting and educational trip for all. We want you to have fun, and at the same

time be safe, and courteous to others on the ship. We want to bring you home in the same happy health

condition in which you board the ship. We have set up a few rules that must be followed. Any bending of

these rules, or stretching the interpretation of these rules will result in the remainder of the cruise

spent with none other than your loving mother and dad. Final say will always be your mother and Ryan.

1)The meeting the first night in the teen club is required. Most teens from what I have been reading do not

hang out there but chose that as a meeting point. The first meeting is required as that is when the parents

sign informational papers for each child for you to participate. It is also when and where the introductions

take place of fellow teen cruisers and the staff inside the teen club. This information must be filled out if

you happen to decide to take part in any of the teen activities organized by the cruise ship.

2)Under no circumstances are you to go to anybody’s cabin nor is anybody allowed to come to ours.

3)You will not go through any of the cabin areas/hallways. There is absolutely no reason for you to be in any of

these locations except to return to your own cabin.

4)You will not be playing around on the elevators. For example: pushing the buttons to every floor.

5)You do not accept a drink of any kind from anybody other than mom, dad, or anyone in our group or one that you

have ordered and is brought to you by cruise ship staff. Nor will you leave your drink unattended. If it is

left unattended you are required to order another one. There are sick people out there......

6)You will be required to check in at a specific time set by mom and/or dad and different intervals throughout the day.

You will also tell us where you are going, what you will be doing and who you will be with. This is so if plans change for

us we can find you to tell you.

7)If you are in our cabin alone, you will be required to have the do not disturb sign posted. Not even crew members (room steward)

are to be in there when you are by yourself.

8)You will be required to join us for all evening meals in the dining room. We have the early seating so you will be required to

be back to the cabin and ready to go at the assigned time. Make sure you allow enough time to get ready.

9)If you decide to swim, you will be courteous to the adults in the pool. No splashing or “cannon balls” to be cute.

Be courteous of adults swimming laps for exercise. Stay out of their way.

10)You will not be obnoxious whether we are with you or you are without us. We expect you to be well mannered using please,

thank you, and excuse me at all times. Hold the doors for adults that are passing through at the same time as you,

allow people to get off of the elevator before you step on. Just because somebody is rude does not give you the right to be rude.

11)Absolutely no running on the ship!

12)No butting in line at the buffet. And do not take more than you can eat. If you are still hungry you can go back for more.

There is plenty of food. I’m sure they plan for people with bigger appetites than yours.

13)Absolutely no cell phone!!!I will have mine.

    14) No excessive amount of sugar and junk food. (You know what is exceptable and what isnt)

    Signed, Mom____________________________

    Signed, dad___________________________

    Signed, kid_________________________

Thanks I will use this next year when I plan on taking my two kids for the first time.

  20. Thank you for posting the review. I'm on the Dec. 7th sailing. Do you have a picture of your balcony to post? How much is the bowling, F1, and 4D Theater?

I wondering the same thing. I thought that stuff (bowling, theater, etc..) was included?

We have sailed a couple of times on the Royal Caribbean so I would love to know how your MSC Divina cruise compared?
