Hi all, I've just finished my review of my latest adventure, a 10 day Canary Island cruise on NCL's Norwegian Spirit. As always I discuss the clothes I wear and make sure I get an 'outfit of the day' photo so I thought you might want a look. The review itself is really long but you can always just skip to the pictures! Here's the link:

My favorite outfits of yours were that one shoulder cocktail dress and the maxi! Love love!

Thank you for this wonderful review! You looked like you had an amazing time!

Happy Friday!
I am headed to St. Thomas on a cruise in January. Looking to scout out some areas for a possible proposal in the summer with the girlfriend. She is going with me in January but feel Summer is best timing and it gives me another reason to book a cruise.. :D
Does anyone have any recommendations on beaches to propose on? Thinking I would prefer St. John but would also recommend beaches on St. Thomas..
I am looking for beauty but serene and a bit private as well..
Thanks!
I am wishing for a proposal from my boyfriend on the Helicopter to Monteressat Volanco tour :) We are going in November 2014, I hope he does it before then though!
Just an idea.

Has anyone done the Helicopter to Monterresat tour, or known anyone that has seen it? It looks quite exciting!
Celebrity is offering $309/pp for a 50 minute tour.
Do you know if this is a private tour, or how many people they cram into the helicopter?
I couldn't find any reviews.
I did some price shopping even with private companies, this seems to be the best deal for time spent in air.

Interesting thread. I am sailing at the moment with my mother who is showing early signs of dementia. She is physically very well, but at the drop of a hat can become totally confused and disoriented. I booked this cruise knowing full well that I would have to be with her constantly, and am very happy to do so, given how much she has given to her children in her lifetime. She loves to cruise, and I don't know how long she will be able to, so for now, we will take it as it comes. I don't believe the problem lies with the cruise line!
I applaud you for taking Mum on a cruise! Many people have a hard time caring for someone with dementia, or are in denial- like I am guessing the couple/family in this article is.
Obviously, if a physician feels that a cruise passenger is unsafe to continue on a cruise, then there's a serious justified reason. Especially when that physician has to document a thorough exam, and write in his report why exactly someone is unfit to continue. I am sure there was a zillion pieces of paperwork and criteria that had to be met. I am sure it wasn't a simple, "oh you need to leave," and this elderly couple was thrown off the ship within 5 minutes.
12+ years of intense medical schooling vs. media sensation. I am wondering who is correct :D

Hiya!
My family and I are traveling on the Century out of Miami over Christmas.
I was hoping to bring small gifts to give to members of the staff (bartenders, waiters, housekeepers, etc.) over our trip as a token of gratitude.
When we spent Christmas in the D.R. a couple of years ago, I gave our AI waitstaff Sammy Sosa t-shirts with some cash as a Christmas gift. So I've been trying to come up with similar ideas that would be good for people that stay in such a small amount of space. Having not cruised in years, I don't know what the needs/wants/luxuries might be.
Help?
my boyfriend's mother bought cans of gum, like orbit. In the middle of the gum, she stuck $100 bills for each of her children inside the gum canister, then wrapped them up. A nontraditional moneyholder, of sorts.
I'm not sure if you wanted to give that much, but an original way to tip.

Back to your question. This cruise line and their formal nights are the perfect time and place to wear this gown. My DW and I wear tuxedos and long gowns (respectively) on Celebrity for formal nights. Your gown looks perfect to me.

thank you! I really appreciate it!

Hello,
Im going a cruise in about a month and am curious about which underwater filters to get for a gopro 3 black edition. I will only be doing snuba(under 20 ft) and snorkeling so I dont think a true Red filter will be the best option. Any suggestions for brands/models/and material?
Thanks!
I am curious as to how your gopro worked under water? Did you end up getting a filter lens?

It's a beautiful dress. From my experience on Celebrity Caribbean cruises, most passengers will be wearing dresses that are more reserved, not quite so fancy, glittery.
Do you think I will be out of place?
-
I was able to book a hotel for Chateau Cervantes in Old San Juan, a block or two away from the Sheraton, right by the port.
Reservation date: October 31, 2014
$130 before taxes.

I am curious, to everyone that likes to dress up for formal nights. Do you feel that booking a specialty restaurant and paying the fee, that you are more apt to see people abiding to the formal dress code?
-
Your dress is beautiful and will look great in the Caribbean. Celebrity passengers do seem to dress up more than other ships I have been on.
I always wear a long gown and DH wears a tux on formal nights.
Margee
I appreciate your help, Margee. Thank you! :)

Ahhh...trying to chase out the (old) rats with the loud music, eh?
Well, I must be an old rat at age 29 because I cannot stand music where you have to scream at each other when you're 6 inches away from each other. So annoying...
Perhaps they're trying to make a 'Vegas Pool Party' style?
Very disappointing to hear about the bar staffing. I don't like to get sloshed, but I do like to drink throughout the day when I'm on vacation.
Are there poolside waitresses on Celebrity that come to you, or is your only option to go to the bar for another drink?
-
Is something like this too formal? Honest opinion, please :)
Either would be fine on Celebrity. Buy what ever you will get more use out of once you are home. -
Hi!
I am cruising for the first time in 11 years, and it is my boyfriend's first time cruising ever. I am 29- he, 31.
I really like to get dressed up as we patron the Opera and many benefit galas in the fall/winter.
We are going on a Southern Caribbean cruise for 7 nights in Nov 2014.
Should I be looking for a long gown, or moreso cocktail attire?
I don't want to look ridiculous.
Many thanks in advance!
