  1. Hey everyone! I am thrilled to be going on this cruise again. I booked it while on board last February. Little did I know that I would also be celebrating my one year Anniversary with my BF on this cruise too! He and I met on the Regal Princess last February and have been going strong since. We laugh that we met on the "LOVE BOAT" on Valentine's day, but it is true! We are both excited to be sailing together on this cruise. Here we are on the RSVP Alaska Cruise in August - we had the time of our life!

  2. Well, this was my 2nd RSVP cruise and I have to say it was far better than last year's on MSC. I made many more friends on this cruise than I did last year - probably because I was more relaxed this time. Yes, the ship was large but I found it simple to navigate. My only complain would be the elevators and the lack of public restrooms. Also I did not see many trash cans around the ship and whenever I had something to throw away, I had to just put it on a table because there was not trash receptacle.

Traveling as a Single Cruiser can be a bit intimidating and I have to say that I felt more comfortable on this cruise than I do in any gay bar in the USA on a Friday or Saturday night! It just seemed to me that most people were very friendly on this cruise and regardless of your gay "status" (Muscle, Bear, Twink, Buff, Etc.) everyone was being friendly with each other. This was very refreshing for me and as a result I met some awesome people.

Additionally, I am happy to say that the "Love Boat" has lived up to its namesake! I met the most amazing man on board and our romance is continuing post-cruise. I totally was not expecting to meet someone who would capture my heart, but as they say... "when you least expect it!" So, for me this cruise ended up being extra special as I met an amazing man and we are both equally enamored with each other!!

The entertainment offerings we excellent as always and I must say I loved the variety. A couple of my favorites were Khris Francis (Hysterical!), Anne Steele and Nate Buccerieie, Bob The Drag Queen & Anne Hampton Callaway. Also the shipboard shows were great!

Food: I found the variety to be great and generally it was good. Not Amazing, but way better than the MSC Divina last year. So, no complaints from me.

  3. This was my first Gay Cruise and I must say that I was very impressed with the RSVP team. There was never a moment on the cruise that I did not feel like I needed something to do. The entertainment brought on the ship was amazing and I also was impressed with the MSC Shows. The theme parties were so much fun and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I do agree that the food was not the best I have had on a cruise, but I will say it was far better than the Carnival cruise I went on in December. I found the crew to be very friendly and willing to do their best to fulfill reasonable requests.

I know there were a lot of upset people, but to be honest I think negativity is sometimes like a virus and it spreads like crazy. I think some people just like to hear themselves bitch for no reason. I saw one passenger just screaming at a bar tender because he was pissed off that his cabin was not serviced earlier in the day. How does yelling at a bartender help get your cabin cleaned???

I thought the ship was very nice and I chose to look past the few minor issues with MSC and enjoy the overall experience. I am ready to book my next RSVP cruise and would also do it on the Divina if they decide to do so.

It was great meeting some of you and the CC Meet & Greet!

  4. Error, error, error...I just want to book excursions, not buy healthcare or anything like that :D

It is really pretty bad that the MSC cannot get their S**T together and keep their website up and running! Been trying to book excursions for several days now and keep getting error messages. Arrrrgh!

  5. I went online to try and book Excursions and was very surprised to see many have already SOLD OUT.

Also, I really wanted to book a Cabana for the day on Great Stirrup Cay as it was listed on the document supplied by RSVP as an option. However, it is not even an option on the MSC website. Does anyone here know about this? I ended up booking the last clamshell because I really want a chill out place with some shade that day.

It appears that space is very limited on many of these excursions. Or, did 100's of people really book today?

  6. RSVP Posted the following on their Facebook Page this morning:

Good morning, everyone. You may have received an email this morning from MSC. It's pretty clear they're getting excited about having us onboard Divina! That e-ticket email was meant to go to you shortly after you receive the email from us containing your Cruise Vacation Guide. Your "CVG" will give you all the instructions you'll need for booking shore excursions, spa packages, and everything else. We ask that you please hold off registering and booking anything until you get that email from us later today and your CVG later this weekend.

I'll await their CVG before doing anything further...

  7. I just heard that the ship is 90% sold.

That's Awesome News! As we get closer to the sail date, I am getting more and more excited about going on this cruise. It's funny to me because I have been on a lot of regular cruises and I do not recall this much excitement and anticipation leading up to those cruises.

Of course being a gay man on a ship with a few thousand other gay men is something I have never experienced before either! So, I am sure that has A LOT to do with the excitement. OH - did I mention I am single too? Ready to mingle...

    Woo Hoo!

  8. I spoke to a friend last night that was on the recent Al & Chuck - "Drag Stars At Sea" cruise on board the MSC Divina & he says "the ship was stunning. But, the service and food was horrible." He is a very laid back kind of guy and for him to say something is bad, means it must have been VERY BAD. He said that the their group took up about 50% of the ship and that Al & Chuck also had pre-sail meetings with MSC and it seemed that the requests fell upon def ears. He said that the majority of the bars were closed at midnight and the ones that did stay open until 1 or 2 AM were so understaffed that you could not even get a drink. With only a couple bars open and 100's of people trying to get drinks from two bartenders, it was a disaster according to him. He said that there were a lot of very upset passengers due to the poor service.

I share this because I hope that someone from RSVP might speak to someone from Al & Chuck and perhaps get these issues resolved before February 15th with MSC. I am not a big drinker so not too worried for myself, but I am nervous about all the bad things I am hearing about the food.

  9. I am booked and looking forward to this cruise! I am a little gun shy about traveling as a Single cruiser. However, I hear that the RSVP Experience is great and that for the most part it will be easy to meet people and make new friends. I was just on the Carnival Fascination for a four day cruise with my sisters and mom as a pre Christmas gift. The food on that cruise was HORRIBLE, so even though the MSC Divina has mixed reviews, it cannot be worse than what I had last week on that cruise!

Several years ago I made the statement that "going on a gay cruise would be my worst nightmare!" At that time I was in an 18 year relationship and my ex and I used to cruise a couple times a year on standard cruises. We always met other gay people on our cruises and attended the FOD gatherings. We had preconceived ideas of what a gay cruise was all about. I do not think I would fit in well on an Atlantis cruise - since I hear they are more like a circuit party at sea! I love to have a good time, but I am not a "partier." I am also not a young stud anymore! LOL 47 years of age here but not dead! hahaha

Are there any other's that have sailed as Single passengers with RSVP before? Any insight on what to expect? I do have one of my best friends booked as an Entertainer on this cruise too, his name is Khris Francis and his act is hysterical! Be sure to see his show for sure. If nothing else, I know I will laugh my ass off with him all week.

  10. I earned my 1,000 pts on Day 1 of cruise by putting room key in the slot machines. I put $100.00 in a machine and kept going up and down with that same $100 for a couple hours and earned the Free Drinks. However, you sometimes have to wait FOREVER before a cocktail person comes by so you can get a free drink. Also, you ONLY get to drink free while inside casino, it does not work anyplace else on the ship.

Overall the Crew and service on this ship was great. However, the food was sub-par at best. It was my 1st Carnival cruise and I am not sure I would ever sail with them again based on the bad food.

The shows were "Divas" and a Motown Review on the 1st night. They repeated the Diva show on the last night of the cruise. I was disappointed that they would repeat a show on a four day cruise.

Lot's of drunk idiots on this cruise and bad behavior by adults. I have never experienced as many drunk and stupid adults on any of my other cruises on other ships.
