Wish it were cruise time

We were rescheduled on an Alaska cruise for July of this year, Holland pushed back the final payment date, but we cancelled anyway. I was disappointed in the communication from Holland (none) and I was not comfortable making a final payment and having Holland have the entire payment until next year when we could possible sail. I think if they had been more forthcoming with information we might have made a different decision, and I do not think it is reasonable to expect Canada to change their rules to allow us the privilege of sailing in their waters and docking at their ports. I also think the CDC has unfairly targeted the cruise industry and is not really working with them to get cruising up and going again.

We have decided that we will still be touring Alaska, without a cruise ship. Alaska is open and hoping people will visit.

We have always had great food on Princess. We just sailed on the Royal in March, and we had anytime dining. The first night we ate at the Crown Grill. It was great, we had the garlic french fries with our steaks, which were to die for. The second night, we waited for a table for two in the Symphony dining room, then we made reservations every night after for the same table. (Table 114, tucked way back in the corner. Served by Jose from Portugal) Our waiter was outstanding. He made recommendations every night and they were spot on. Some nights we ended up with multiple entrees because we just had to try something else. I had some kind of seafood every night and it was always perfectly cooked. One night, I had the scallops with the gratinated (???) potatoes, that was outstanding. The eggplant Parmesan was so good that my husband ate it, and he does not eat eggplant.

You HAVE to try Alfredos, unbelievable pizza. The International Cafe has food twenty fours hours, but the lunch selection is really good. Princess' tuna sandwiches are great, and I am picky about my tuna. I have to say that my husband was looking forward to their tuna for weeks. Every salad we had at the International Cafe was also really good.

Oh, the hard rolls are absolutely unbelievable. We cannot get a great hard roll where we live and that is something we both look forward to on every Princess cruise.

All in all, no bad food. It was so good, we ate when we weren't really hungry!:D

thank you for your wonderful and informative posts. We have cruised for times, the next in six weeks, and we have always had balconies. Our first cruise I was very nervous about being on the ship. afraid that I would be sea sick or freaked out by the thought that there was a lot of water beneath me, but that was not the case. The balcony was our haven. I cried when we left the ship after the first cruise, it was that good. We will always have a balcony.

I am addicted, to cruising and balconies.

some of these posts are exactly what I would have answered. I had tears in my eyes after our first cruise, it was so much fun. I always feel better when I start looking for another cruise. It is like a vacation just to dream. My kids say I am addicted to cruises!
