1. Hello All,

A big group of friends and family (8 - adults, 9 - children (1-10 years old) are going to Bermuda in May. We are sold on going to Horseshoe Bay but torn on transportation. Anyone been there recently? Would you recommend taxi, public transit, ship excursion? Ship is charging $40 for the transfer (includes to and from ship). Thanks in advance.

  2. I personally love Texas Hold’em Ultimate tables. Usually win between a couple hundred and a grand a cruise betting minimums and playing the bonus. The real money is in the bonus since it pays out on any hand better then two pair which is basically the 3rd worst hand or better.

I was on the Explorer a few years ago and watched a woman win $25,000. It took her all cruise, and she was down $10,000 at one point but she kept playing $100 on the bonus and caught quads and a straight flush a time or two (I think they pay 250:1 and 500:1) and she made her money back and then some. It just took a large initial investment and money to spend/possibly loose

  3. Hey Bob,

Thank you so much again, and I hope my questions, and your answer, help others as well.

Just for the record the reason I got worried is because I heard a story on our last cruise, where the computers at RCI cancelled a cruise within the final month after payment in full and everything, because the “parameters” of the room did not meet reservation requirements (what ever that means, I should have asked more). Anyways when I do a mock booking this is what i see:

You can clearly see our room does not have the 4 person icon on it, and I want to make sure it was a computer error that would not lead to any unfortunate events in the future.

My wife and I are looking forward to this being our Diamond cruise and the first cruise for our second child. So I’m just double checking everything.

    Thanks again!

  5. Hey Everyone,

My family and I are booked in a Junior Suite for our Independence cruise next year. There will be 4 of us in the JS and I was looking for a price drop today when I noticed the stateroom we are assigned does not have a icon-sofa-bed.png on it, which I assume means it is not a designated "additional" persons cabin?

The advice I am looking for is: Is my assumption true? If so should I call RCI and have them make a change in cabins? We really like the cabin location, any harm and just ignoring it? Will they still let us have the cabin? Has anyone experienced this in the past?

Sorry for so many questions. Thanks in advance for any help :)

  6. I'm curious about this particular cabin location as well. Has anyone sailed in cabin 7660 on the Brilliance? Are there lifeboats in the way? Can you look straight down to the water or is there an obstruction?

Haven’t been on the Brilliance, but the Radiance and Serenade have the extended balcony WITH obstruction for those cabins (52-70)[emoji106]

The balconies on deck seven WITH OUT obstruction are the hump or 14-46. The later having extended balconies with half dividers as well.

  7. Does the alaska cruisetour 8B take a bus from anchorage to seward precruise?iI believe it does and if so I have heard about the grandview railroad and wondered if it was worth giving up the free bus transportation to the ship to try and take the train. I will have been on a train for the cruise tour for 6 days previous and wondered if that was enough without paying the extra. any advice appreciated.

All cruise tours take the bus from anchorage to Seward and visa versa. Our tour guide explained the train is too profitable for single day fairs to cruise ports to justify tour operation cars being added to that train route [emoji849]

  8. Hello Everyone,

I am looking for advice. My wife, mother, father, 9 month old daughter and I will be sailing on the Navigator in April to the ABC islands. Im looking for advice on any baby friendly excursion, either through RCI, or private, that you think would be enjoyable for our family. We are totally prepared to just relax and enjoy at the beaches at every stop, but DW wanted me to ask the CC community and see if you all had any advice or experience. Thanks in advance! clear.png?emoji-smile-1742

  10. It was amazing to me how close you could get to the Presidents house. You can see the police officers in green guarding the front door.

We boarded the bus and went to our final stop in Tallinn, an amphitheater where Estonia's biggest music festival is held yearly.

Great view of the Serenade in the back ground.

We made it back to the ship and got some gorgeous pictures of the city!

  11. Hey Everyone,

Pictures are not uploading tonight, sorry:confused: Ill continue the review tomorrow night

One thing I wanted to add to the review that I forgot to mention about St. Petersburg was "open seating" for dinner. When I scan and post all the compasses at the end of the review you all will see what I am talking about, but basically everyone had MTD the two nights in St. Petersburg. There was no traditional dinning due to everyone being out on the town. Just something interesting I wanted to make note of.

    Night Everyone, until tomorrow :)

  12. We then went into one of the oldest Marzipan candy shops in eastern Europe. Fascinating!

Still can't believe all those figures were eatable!

Then we walked to town hall in the center of town for a snack. They had a market today in the town square.

    DSC08932_zpsnuhxocxr.jpg

Before snack we visited the oldest pharmacy in the world. Pretty cool!

Then we headed to the cafe for a snack and coffee that was provided by SPB.

  13. Our tour guide then took us to the highest point in the city. What an amazing view!

    DSC08903_zpsxuaihjhn.jpg

We then walked down from old town to new town, learning about the city, county, politics, and anything else you could imagine or think to ask, along the way.
