You'll find that there are always several families onboard during the holiday season to escape from home. We typically try and stay away from places that are overly Christmassy and the ship works for us. We sailed Sailed to Mexico over Xmas after our 20 yr old son died of an enlarged heart. He was working for Princess at one of their Alaska summer lodges when it happened. We're definitely not ready to do an Alaskan cruise but we do still cruise with Princess. Cam loved to cruise with us. Love and miss him.

I was on a Princess ship in SE Asia last spring and they started making announcements on a sea day for several cabins. Turns out they broke quarantine for noro virus. The captain had warned people for days to follow the rules. When the cabin mates were located they we're put off at the next port. The captain himself made the announcement over the entire ship about what they had done and what he did in response. I was pretty darn impressed with captain, they took the outbreak very seriously.

Saved an additional $380 on mine bringing the grand total of my price drops to $1100. I'm very happy!

What is the soda of choice on Carnival.

Coke or Pepsi? Can you get cans or 20oz bottles?

We are going with the soda package,but thinking bringing some on for the cabin.

Thank you so much for posting this! I hadn't checked for a few weeks and probably would have missed this. We saved another $520, I love early saver! In total ours has dropped a little over a $1,000 in the past 9 months. What was once a pretty expensive cruise has now turned into a good cruise price.

I picked up a car at the FLL airport (Alamo) and dropped it off the next day at MIA- $23.00 total charge for one day. They offer a free shuttle from MIA to the Port of Miami. I enjoyed having the car to do some sightseeing and shopping prior to cruise.

I did the same thing last year, it was a fantastic deal but I haven't seen anything that cheap for this coming summer.

Hi, I'm hoping to get to the quick and dirty without going through so many back pages. You guys are definitely prolific writers! :)

I'll be traveling with my small service animal, Salsa, on an upcoming Hal trip. We'll be traveling to Cabo, Peurto Vallarta and Mazatlan. I have the letter from HAL which I will travel with but I'm surprised that my travel documents don't say anything about her accompanying me.

Is there anything else I should be aware of regarding these ports, or HAL? I have to say that the access and compliance department was pretty rude with me while we were emailing back and forth. I just want to have all my ducks in a row so that we can have a smooth sailing.

I have plans on keeping my chi in her travel tote while we are in the dining room to keep from causing such a disturbance. It seems to be the easiest way. Because my disibility is not a physical one that people can see, it causes alot of questions and patience. Again, this is new for me so I suppose I will get more used to it.

Do you all have any helpful hints for me begining with boarding, on the ship and in the ports? Any problems with traveling to Mexico, coming back to the US, etc?

Just got back and my t-mobile phone worked in Anchorage, Wasilla, Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge, Denali, Whittier, Juneau, Ketchikan and the day before arriving in Vancouver. Great reception throughout.

I've pulled out the little packet that I received on our first Princess cruise which was Feb '08 on the CB. There is a letter that says:

The preprinted note inside is from Capatin Tony Yeomans from the Diamond Princess with our Passport sticker of the Diamond Princess to place inside our Passport.
