Hi to everyone reading this! I booked two Havana Aft-Facing Extended balconies on the Horizon with connecting balconies. Is the partition easy to open and close on one's own or does it require housekeeping's assistance? Does it open and close like a door or do pieces have to be removed? Looking for any details and pics if you've got 'em. Thank you.

Well I hope you’re right. I will be in a Havana cabin in Aug on the Horizon and will find out then. I was going on some of the YouTube videos that mentioned it opening at 7.
I've noticed that in a lot of YouTube videos as well. The Havana pool area used to be open to all guests after 7 p.m., but they changed the policy in late 2019. Now, only the Havana interior bar is open to all guests and that is all day. The videos are likely older YouTube videos or were created by misinformed vloggers.
Here is the information from Carnival's website:
Havana Pool Area Features
Located aft on Deck 5, the aft lanai ocean-air outdoor promenade and Havana Pool offer stunning views of the ocean.- The Havana Pool area will be for the exclusive use of guests occupying the Havana accommodations and guests in Grand Suites.
- This area features two large hot tub spas, an infinity pool and relaxation area complete with colorful umbrellas, faux palm trees, thatched patio huts and comfy seating, perfect for soaking up the sun while enjoying a refreshing mojito.

I followed the advice here and booked the room. I also encouraged my friends to look into it to see if they were interested. They were and now we all are in the Havana area. It’ll be a much more enjoyable experience now.
Yay! That's awesome. Your friends won't regret it either. I sailed in a Havana interior on the Vista and loved being able to hang out in the pool---many times I had the whole pool to myself! We will be in a Havana aft-facing extended balcony on our next cruise. Our travel companions wanted a basic interior, but I upgraded them myself because my husband and I will spend a lot of time in the Havana area and I didn't want our friends to feel left out.

I stayed in Havana 5214 on the Vista. Awesome cabin. The music in the Havana bar stops at midnight. Before that, my sister could hear a mild base. I heard nothing at all. I always bring earplugs just in case, but did not need them. If you have smaller ear canals, I recommend Mack's Dreamgirl Ear Plugs for small or sensitive ears.

Carnival Vista out of Galveston. End of January. Same price. Two different itineraries. Which should I choose?
Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios
or
Cozumel, Mahogany Bay, Belize

Another great review. We are sailing the Horizon to the ABC’s in May 2020 and your review has me even more excited. I sailed the Vista in 2017 and the decks outside the Havana cabanas are open to the public and unlocked every evening. You’d think after paying that amount of money you’d have some privacy, but no. Also, is that Sakari’s handwriting on her artwork? If so, she has gorgeous penmanship; a dying art form in my opinion.

I’m pretty late to the party on this one and you’ve probably already received an answer, but I believe the reason they close the SkyCourt in the evenings on both Horizon and Vista is due to it being located above the surcharge restaurants.

I agree! The US has been doing this for years, so why should Europe be any different!
The article states that the only EU countries that require a visa to the US are Bulgaria, Croatia, Poland, Romania, and Cyprus.

Yeah, but you’d think they’d make the more spacious rooms the ones that accommodate 3 people. The Havana interiors are TINY. My sister and I sailed on the Vista in a Havana interior and it was very cramped. I can’t imagine squeezing in a third person, especially with the limited storage in those rooms. Plus, on the Horizon, they designated more rooms Havana than they did on the Vista. Wish they would have added some of those extra numbers to the balcony rooms.

Does anyone else think it’s odd that the Carnival Horizon offers a few Havana Interiors that sleep 3, but the much more spacious Havana Aft-View Facing Extended Balcony cabins only sleep 2?
I’ve done a lot of digging and I can’t see that any of the Havana Aft-View Facing Extended Balcony cabins sleep more than 2 even though they contain a sofa which could easily be swapped for a single person convertible sofa. Did I miss something?

My sister hadn't been on a cruise since 1998 and my Mom well before that. All I did was create accounts for them on the website and their VIFP numbers were automatically added with their past cruises. I didn't need to enter anything special except their names and birth dates.

My Horizon cruise (May 2020) cannot be found when I search for it using my iPhone, but I can find it using my laptop. Very strange.

Thanks everyone! Could anyone tell me more about Explorer of the Seas?

Trying to decide between a 9 day on RC’s Explorer of the Seas (Labadee and the ABCs) with an interior room or an 8 day on the Carnival Horizon (the ABCs) with a Havana Interior room.
Pros and cons, please!

Can anyone recommend a day use hotel in Ft. Lauderdale? I found two through dayuse.com that look ok, but I am wondering if there are any others in the area. We prefer availability from 10 am - 6 pm. Also, I'd appreciate any feedback on the two that dayuse.com suggested: Hampton Inn - Ft. Lauderdale Downtown Los Olas and Courtyard by Marriott - Ft. Lauderdale Beach.
We won't have a car, so we'd prefer close proximity to shopping and restaurants (less than a 1/2 mile). Thanks in advance!

I have been researching this ship as it will be my first Carnival Cruise. My first cruise ever was 2 years ago on Norwegian Getaway, so, it will be tough to top that new ship, but, I'm keeping an open mind and am understanding this is an older ship for sure. In doing my research by watching YouTube vids, etc. I noticed that the updates after it's recent drydock at the pool deck were pretty significant. Added Blue Iguana, RedFrog, Guys Burgers, etc. I also see they modified the pool and they moved jacuzzis to be built into the sun deck. In my opinion, very cool. Wondering if you by chance have any photos of the Siren's Pool located at the back of the ship? Curious to see if that got any upgrades! Thanks, and this is an awesome post. Sailing the Key West / Cozumel itinerary on April 30th. I'm getting pumped up!
I'm on that sailing too! :D:D:D

Wow...people were only trying to help. Perhaps you should have put “this is my 14th cruise” in the original post and not have mused about the crackers and cheese. Now I feel like I wasted my time. Have a good evening.
She wasn’t directing that remark towards you.

Walk to the Southernmost Point, tour Hemingway's Home, peruse the shipwreck museum, take a trolley tour, eat at one of the many restaurants, check out the famous bars, shop for touristy souvenirs. I've done all this and more in a 6 hour port stop.

Thanks everyone for your help! I'll most likely book one of the Princess cruises. I haven't sailed that line yet!

Anyone know if there are any Carnival cruises (2018/2019) docking in all 3 of the ABC's?

So sad! :(

If I put $500 in Carnival Gift Cards on my Sail and Sign Account at check-in, can I cash out my account in the Casino on the last day of the cruise in order to get cash back? Is there any charge for doing so?

I don't know what the equivalents will be on the Venezia, but on the Horizon, the SkyBox plays different games than the Pig and Anchor, Of course, there is A LOT more room in the Pig and Anchor. Like others said, it is the luck of the draw as to what games they get.
