  1. On a Princess Cruise last April, I placed four RRs in baggage that I checked with porter on pier. None were confiscated. During the 25-day cruise, l chatted with many passengers who packed RR and none were confiscated. Several passengers also took box wine out of the box and just packed the spouted bag. Those also made it onboard.

If you plan to purchase liquor in Ensenada, return to the ship with a large group or wait for a large tour group to return and to go through ship security with them. Security is in such a rush that they seldom catch your bottles. If the scanner sees them, they're too busy to escort you to the confiscating / check in table. I've walked onboard with liquor, scanner told me to check liquor in at table and been pointed to the table. With a crowded area, the table staff have no idea who has been sent to them so I just walked past the table and up the stairs with my bottles.

  2. I love reading about everyone's exciting travel plans. Color me chartreuse with envy.

My next journey is 2014 April 3-29 Sapphire Princess - Grand Asia Pacific Crossing sailing from Los Angeles to Honolulu, Crossing International Dateline, Guam, Taipei, Okinawa, Shanghai, Kagoshima and Osaka. I love lots of days at sea. I'm disappointed that the cruise eliminated the stop for Seoul. Afterwards, I'm staying in Tokyo for 5 days (Golden Week.)
