  1. soot happens. you should be wearing sandles with them size 14 feet. I know I always wear sandles I am never barefoot on a cruise :|

Try size 10, not that it matters. Like your opinion and most of the others that say it is no big deal. It is a big deal, when I pay for something I will have what I paid for. And that includes being barefoot on my deck. Why would you not go barefoot? Most of the people on here act like you are calling their mother a bad name if you say something about RCCL.

  2. Last year while on the Oasis, I noticed that on some days special celebrations were mentioned in the Compass. This year, on the Allure, I would love to have my daughter and sister's birthdays listed... it's the day after we depart. Do you think there is any chance I can arrange this before we board? Is there a general "customer service" email I can ask the question to for the Allure?

    Thanks so much!

I tried emailing the concierge to get my sons B-day which is the day we depart and got this response.......

Since March 1st we discontinued advertising celebration in the cruise compass

Shall you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Kind regards,

  3. Most people would be shocked if they knew who "bikers" are. Yes there is the minority scumbag bikers, just like in any group or category. Most of your bikers are your average everyday normal people that love to jump on their motorcycle and ride. A cruise with a bunch of biker I think would be a blast.

I would cruise with them any day rather then a bunch of snobs who are more worried about what other people are wearing during dinner.

  4. If you know the history of shorts, you'd understand that they were originally considered a form of athletic wear, and thus had their place as acceptable at country clubs, because people would go from the tennis courts and golf courses to the dining room.

And if you are a member you also have a locker in the dressing room. Where you can change into long pants. Why would you have to go straight to the dinning room? Wouldn't you want to shower first? Wouldn't you find that more offensive than wearing shorts? Don't lecture me on the history of shorts. I for one am soooo fed up with the people on here who think they know EVERYTHING!

  5. The term "dress shorts" is an oxymoron. You cannot be "dressed up" and in shorts simultaneously.

I actually had to look them up, and they appear to be essentially Dockers-style pants, but knee length. Full length Dockers aren't "dressed up", they are business casual at best.

That ends my mini-lecture on clothing terminology. :)

Just pack one pair of khakis and be done with it. They can be worn every night, just to dinner. No one will know you're wearing them every night. As someone has previously mentioned, the MDR, heck, all the indoor space on the ship, is usually cool enough to not be uncomfortable in pants.

I guess you have never been to a country club.
