  1. We were also on this cruise and thanks to all who had posted on this thread previously, we were able to plan things on our own. I had booked an all day tour with a private company in Havana at a fraction of the price and could not have been happier. The first hour and 45 min was a walking tour in the Old part of the city. The next 5 hrs were in a classic air conditioned car. Our guide was a lovely 25 yr. old who spoke great English. We had lunch at one of the little cafes in a home.

I loved Havana and felt safe at all times. The people are lovely and if I have the good fortune to return some day I have an idea of what to bring as gifts to the people I come in contact with.

Yes there is a lot of poverty but the people are proud of their country and don't complain.

  2. VidaNaParia, Do a lot of the people we have the opportunity to meet speak English?

Also, can you please tell me where I can find a map of the port area and where is the best place to convert money? I had read that at the port there are long lines waiting to convert money.

    hanks, Jaalice

  3. What hotel are you staying at? If you stay at one near the port, you won't need a taxi - you can just walk to the cruise terminal.

We are staying at Le Port Royal hotel near the port BUT! My husband has walking difficulties so walking is out of the question for us.

Any suggestions as to which taxi service would be best to contact? Also any suggestions where a group of about 20 people could enjoy dinner on Sun. evening? Quite a few people are staying there the night before the cruise and thought we might enjoy an informal Meet & Mingle.

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

  4. We docked in Kotor Nov 19, 2013. I had read about Milo on cruise critic and had arranged for Milo and a friend to take 8 of us on a tour. He is a marvelous tour guide and so informative about his country. I also feel that it was one of the most reasonable tours we have taken. If you want to see more than just what is near the port, I strongly recommend getting in touch with him ahead of time. I will be happy to share his email if you wish to contact me: jaalice at msn dot com. Please put Kotor tour in the subject line.
