Is a reservation necessary or recommended for parking at the Cape Liberty terminal...right at the port? How far is it then from the terminal? Can you walk or do you need to get shuttled? If there are shuttles, how often do they run?

Cabin # 6146 Silhouette
Deck #6
Class: verandah
Area: Front starboard
Bed Near: bathroom
Quiet: yes
Balcony view: left half was perfectly clear, right half was 30% obstructed by the life boat system. It did not bother us at all.
Balcony size: standard
Wind a problem: no
Soot a problem: no
Problems/comments: room was nice and close to the stairs and elevators...no noise. We would select this room again without hesitation.

We were on the Silhouette last week...and all the craft beers were located in Cellar Masters. They had about 20 different types but were expected to get more in.

This is a wonderful tour! Greg was our guide and gave us interesting information when we were on the bus. The views from the stops were amazing! They keep track of the clock and are conscientious about getting you back to the ship with more than enough time before sailing. We went last week and will do this again when we are in Cozumel!!!

The LL Bean Stowaway jacket with Gortex is excellent...but is more expensive. The LL Bean Trail Model Rain jacket is also very good and less expensive. We were in Alaska in May--you will love it!

That was my first cruise as well, however a few years earlier. Isn't it amazing how one thought what a large ship we were on and now look at the huge vessels out there!

Do you remember the lip between the stateroom and the bathroom??
Yes, at the time it seemed like the largest ship ever! She did have character.

SS Norway in 1987...St. Martin, St. Thomas and NCL's private island -- Great Stirrup Cay. We were hooked! Loved the ship...

There's really not that much difference between the various 7MB locations when it comes down to it. It's really personal preference. Most spots are free/cheap. All have restrooms and outdoor showers, and will have lounge chairs and umbrellas for rent. Most have a watersports operator there or nearby for rentals. None are the type of huge AI beach clubs you'll find in other ports like Cozumel. The biggest differences I've noticed are distance from the port area and the restaurant menu, plus the couple of notes below.
In order of distance (closest first) from the port area:
Royal Palms - http://royalpalmscayman.com/
- has an adults-only pool and rental beach cabanas
- doesn't do cruise ship excursions, has a $2pp entry fee
Calico Jacks/Public Beach - https://www.facebook.com/CalicoJacksGrandCayman
- not really a commercial beach club like the others, it's the actual public beach area with a restaurant next door
- has a playground nearby, and has public picnic shelters (free, first come first served)
- sometimes has excursions, no entry fee
Surfside Beach - http://www.caymangoodtaste.com/restaurants_detail.asp?restaurantID=261
- newest, less well-known as far as I can tell
- nice bar area with comfy seating on the patio
- beach is a bit narrower than the previous two spots
- not sure if they do excursions or not, no entry fee that I'm aware of
- my favourite menu, but YMMV
Tiki Beach - http://www.tikibeachcayman.net/
- beach is a little narrow compared to the other spots
- most popular location for cruise excursions
- some have reported a high entry fee (incl chair & drink) but that isn't consistent

I am sorry you have all misunderstood because I was not clear about the magnetic clips. The clip is the kind you would use on a fridge that would hold a note...the lanyard from the key card hangs over the top of the clip and the key card dangles well below the magnet. It has worked great for us and has never demagnetized any of our cards!

Magnetic clips work great on the stateroom walls for holding your key cards so you do not misplace them. Cloth hanging shoe holder works great for keeping your stateroom organized. You can buy them for $5 to $10 and they fold up small for traveling!

We were on 8 this year and loved it! It was our first time in an aft stateroom. We would book it again without hesitation.
