Thanks. I've sailed on Glory before and pretty much know my way around the ship.

As a duly registered Anglophile, I'm delighted to know I can get a cuppa and some finely cut cucumber sandwiches on the sea days, of which there are two on the cruise I'm booked for on Glory.

I find myself saddened by RCCL's decision to take the Majesty out of its roster of ships. The smaller ships are much more interesting to me than the megaships for a lot of reasons. I can't swallow the idea of 5000 passengers fighting for space both on board and at the landing areas. The biggest ship I've ever sailed on is Carnival Glory and she gets pretty close to too big for me. The smallest is the Cunard Parthia (13,000 plus tons) and I remember her and the Georgic and the CP Empress of Britain and RCCL's Song of America fondly.

My late wife and I cruised on Song in February 1996 and I fondly remember breakfasts on deck in the after part of the ship and the great service we received. Song was a little small to me as I had previously sailed on QE I and II and the original Queen Mary, but I found her to be comfortable and pleasant.

I was on Glory's Jan. 3 cruise and formal nights were Tuesday and Friday.

Are there coffee and cold drink dispensers on Majesty open 24/7 as there are on Carnival ships?
Carnival prices just not cutting it .....

Carnival's biggest, newest ship hasn't even done a cruise yet and is already virtually fully booked pretty far out. They'd be dopes to offer deals on that ship. Try some of the smaller ships and some of the Journeys cruises. I've had great luck booking "secret" cabins--the ones with portholes at inside prices on Sunshine and Valor. I booked a cabin with a big glass door on Legend for an inside price(obstructed view). The deals are there, but you have to be selective about dates and ships and cabin locations.
