Thoughts and prayers to those affected by this. So sad and random.
As for nearby ports, I think Norfolk is the closest that has supported cruise ships in the past. Philadelphia is another port (not 100% if they ported ships there in the past). Of the active ports, NYC (Manhattan) and Charleston are “close”.

Thanks so much for your info. Looking forward to being on Fascination in a few days also.
Did either of you use the Internet while on board? If so, how was the Wi-Fi coverage? I've read a few people comment about slow speeds on its first few trips after dry-dock.

Just back and the list that Essiesmom gave earlier is still the lineup.
I also agree with Micah's Grandad, 88 Keys was good (the best of the four IMHO).
They are starting to rotate in a new cast with this week's voyage, so the results may vary.

The Coast Guard had to come and pick up a passenger with a medical emergency last night just outside the entrance to the bay. There is no helipad on the ship so it had to hover and send baskets down to pick up the family and then the patient. The wind was so bad that it took a long time to safely complete the transfers. I hope the ending is happy. We docked at 11:30 and made it off at 1:30. We had FTTF and was in the first group off after the self assist passengers.

MichaelandJoanne,
Did you get a chance to utilize the chat feature? If so, what were your thoughts on that?
Also, was the app able to know where you are on the ship? Kind of like a 'You are here' on the deck plans.
Thanks for the info!

For those who have been on the Pride recently, which Playlist Productions are they doing?

Do the Pride and the Grandeur share the same terminal and parking lots?

That's so funny!!! No I didn't want to enter it towards the end. I forgot about it till a few weeks ago. I'll be the lady in a boot on my right foot. Maybe we'll meet up :-) Have a great time!!

Congrats! We are also on your sailing and was up-sold from a balcony to a grand suite this morning. It's a beautiful thing. Have a great trip! Did you end up with room 6315? That's where our original room was.

Thanks for your support of my excitement (and overlooking my grammar)! My mom, husband and I are really thrilled. We aren't telling our daughter so I can't wait to see her face when she walks into the room.

You're right - it was the upsell fairy but I'll take it anyways. We booked through our PVP at Carnival. I was very organized and printed everything and taped our luggage tags. I had to reprint everything. I will unpack my over the door organizer that we always use for shoes because we have a ton of closet space now. Thanks for the well wishes - we will certainly enjoy our trip and new room :D

We are sailing tomorrow for 8 days on the Conquest. It is my husband, daughter and Mom in the room. Carnival called and offered us the Grand Suite for an additional $550 total (from a balcony room)! We took it. Now my husband doesn't have to hide on the balcony when Mom is getting changed 😊 This may spoil us for future sailings though.

Thanks for the info about the wall! I know it's pretty early to be asking, but, now I can think about other questions to ask:) . I plan on "getting out there" as much as I can, and trying new things. Now if I can only get my husband on the canopy tours!!

Hi! My husband, 5 1/2 year old (who will be 6 1/2 at the time of sailling - it's so far away:( ) and I, along with my sister and her son just booked FOS for nov1, 2009. For anybody who has done the rock climb - do you wear your own sneakers, or hikers, or do they have special shoes? I have never done this, but I want to take advantage of the wall. Also, shorts or pants? Thanks so much, Carol

We’ve gone under that bridge several times. Very accessible port too!
