I am looking for somewhere to buy a 12 pack of soda and possibly a bottle of wine that is walking distance from the Jacksonville port. I was going to take a taxi from the airport to the port and have the taxi stop. However, I decided to take the Carnival transfer to the port.
I posted something similar before but this is somewhat different and I wanted a different title to catch attention to my question.
Help??

OOPS..
Not $4 for insurance. Meant $$$

I was wondering if people buy Travel Insurance?
We will be sailing on March 13 out of Jacksonville leaving from Baltimore. Hopefully there will not be bad weather which could cancel our flight.
I looked at several insurance companies and it would cost around $120ish .
Is it worth it or spend the $4 on DOD?
Thanks for the advise in advance

Any liquor stores near there?

Can anyone please tell me how long it takes by taxi to go from the Jacksonville airport to the Carnival Cruise port? Also, how much is it?
Thanks alot

I am flying into Jacksonville. I will need the taxi driver to stop somewhere for me

Also looking for a liquor store where I can buy a bottle of wine that I am allowed to take onboard in my carry-on.
Sounds like I may have to ask the taxi driver to stop somewhere on the way from the airport to the cruise port.

We are flying into Jacksonville and looking for somewhere to buy a 12 pack of soda to take onto the ship.
Is there any stores near the port that is within walking distance or do I need to have the taxi driver find somewhere on the way from the airport??
Thanks for your help!!

We are flying into Jacksonville. I would like to know where I can pickup a 12 pack of diet coke and possibly something else to take onto the ship. Is there anywhere close to the port when I get dropped off from the airport or do I need to ask the taxi driver to stop somewhere for me??

I was on the Legend going on 2 summers ago. We had the French Door cabin and loved it. The trick is being able to find the cabins that are between the lifeboats. You get about 5 feet of clearance where you can see directly to the water. It was nice to open the doors and see out.

I was on the Legend last summer and had an obstructed view OV cabin. I believe it was category 4K. The whole key is to find one of the cabins that is between the lifeboats. We had one and there is about a 4 foot gap that allowed us to look straight out and see the water.
I can;t remember the website but there is one that people post pictures of their rooms. Look at the Legend deckplan and figure out which cabin is between the lifeboats and then look at the room website and see if they posted a picture what it looks like out the french door.
Calling Carnival, they might be able to tell you which cabins to look for

Anyone have some thoughts that may have been on 1 or more of these ships???

I looked at the Carnival FAQ and it states that the earliest fllght for Jacksonville is 11:00. I can get the 10:45

I am looking at a Carnival Cruise on the Fascination that is scheduled to arrive back in Jacksonville at 8:00.
What would you reccomend to be the earliest flight home?
Not sure how long it takes to go from the port to the airport.
Starting to look for flights and found a 10:45. Too early??

Did I mess something up??? All I did was reply???
If so, sorry!!!

OK, from another thread, it looks like I am going to go on the Fascination. It arrives back in Jacksonville at 8:00. What would be the safest (earliest) time to find a return flight home?
I found a 10:45 flight and not sure if that would give me enough time to get to the airport. How log does it take to go from the port to the airport?
thoughts??

It looks like the Fascination may be the choice. I like hearing many good things about the ship from fellow cruisers.
Now to start looking for airfare
-
I was in St. Thomas a few years ago. Megan's Bay beach is absolutely beautiful!!!
-
Looking to take a quick Bahamas cruise and trying to decide on the ship.
The Fascination is a 4 days cruise for only about $30-40 more than the Majesty of the Seas and the Sky which are 3 day cruises.
If the Majesty or the Sky are much better than theh Fascination, I may choose the shorter cruise to get the better ship.
Thanks for everyone's help

Namelocg:
Doesn't really matter. The price of the airfare is about the same to any of the leaving ports
-
I know they are all the Fantasy class ships so they technically are the same ship. Looking for what people think about the different ships especially if they have been on a few of them.
For about $30-40 more, I can book a 4 days on the Fascination compared to a 3 day on the Ecstacy and Sensation.
Strongly leaning toward the Fascination since it is cheap to get the extra day

Hello everyone,
I am looking to book a short cruise to the Bahamas. Not sure which ship to go on and looking for what people think.
Once I figure out which Carnival ship then I need to compare with RC and Norwegian.
I have read reviews but don't trust all of them. You can have 2 people on the same cruise, 1 will love it and 1 will hate it.
I was on the Legend 2 summers ago and I know these are the older ships and different size.
Thanks for all the "hopeful responses" :)
Heard the Fascination hit some ROUGH seas last night

Glad you mom is feeling better. She was unlucky enough to run into a big No'oreaster storm that was coming up the coast.
I'm in Maryland and we had around 14" of snow.
