  1. You can make your show reservations once you are within your 45 day window when you go to your profile on NCL.com just pick the day you want you see a show and reserve it. When you go through the check out it will I'd the complimentary shows as free and any paid shows you will have to pay for before it will process your reservation.

  2. They bingo was quite expensive it was between $35 to $100 depending on the number of cards you want. They play three games per event the. First is basic Bingo were u need a line to win, the next game all u needed was the corners to win (very fast game), the final fame u needed a whole card to win and if u got a whole card in 47 or less balls you won the jackpot which was around $3000.

  3. Well sad to say that I am back home from a fabulous trip on the Getaway. This was the second time that I have sailed on this ship and it kept getting better on this trip.

    Positives

First of all I have to say that the cruise director Joel Sanchez a.k.a "Jersey Boy"had to be the best cruise director that I have had on a cruise line. He is right up there next to Simon Murry. His energy was non stop and he was always the life of the party. He will make your next cruise on the Getaway outstanding and make sure u go and see the farewell show and watch his dance number it was so funny along with his top ten list.

For this cruise I was staying in cabin 11906 on the aft starboard side of the ship it was a great view and with only one balcony next to u it was great for sitting out side for some quite time. Are cabin stweard Dennis was always there when you needed something and the room was always done early enough if you wanted to turn in early after a long day of cruise fun.

On board the show that we saw was the Welcome Abaord show and I would highly recommend it for people who are first timers to the Getaway it gives a great variety of all the shows that are on board. Legally Blonde was a great show and you will need to make sure that you have reservations in place before getting on board as they are highly popular.

While I was on board I also did a lot of scheduled activities listed in the dailies fro. Deal or no deal to bingo and the art auctions. If you get a chance take some time to do some of the little things they offer such as the trivia contests or the watching a movie in the atrium it was nice to relax for a few minutes between running from activity to activity.

    Negatives

There are very few negatives that I have to say about my trip but the few there are have to deal with the pricing of things now. The first is the room services convince fee. While it was listed originally on the website that on the Getaway it was going to be $4.95 it turned out to be $7.95. While they did offer a very small selection of things like a pot of coffee for free the use of this convince few was a real negative as it really increased thby lines and amount of individuals in the Buffett.

For now that is all I have to report on but if people have any particular questions just ask and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Enjoy your future trip on the Getaway.

  4. I will also be on board Saturday . I gave sailed on getaway before and you have to check out mondero for dinner one night the good is excellent. Also the water slides are a blast. But if you get a chance check out spice h20 to relax and enjoy the trip

  5. I will be heading on the Getaway on the 25th and we will be heading to Tortola, I be leave we r the first itinerary to be heading there. since u r heading on as I get off I will not be able to get the sallies up in time. But I behave if u check Royal Carribean sallies they have stopped there before.

  6. You don't gave make reservations but I would highly recommend it, the point behind the whole freestyle concept of NCL is that you pick when u want to do something like dinner or activities. But they only offer a few opertunites to see the headliner shows. So if u really want to see them I would make a reservation for when u want to.

  7. I am a regular NCL cruiser I will be heading back on the Getaway for the third time in a few weeks. To answer some of the questions posted on this thread. First your bring soda and water on board like on other lines I usally tape a baggage tag to the case and check it with the rest of my luggage so it will be delivered with the rest of my luggage. Next the Spice H20 is labeled as an adult area they do allow families in during the day but it is rare to see little kids there as there is no pool, just a few hot tubs and a wadding pool. They do have a location to check your luggage in until your room is ready it is usally at Bliss on deck 7 aft in the Casino next to the noodle bar.

When it comes to dinning Taste and Savor are great places to eat and are part of the free dinning. The show Legally Blonde you should be able to reserve it between 45 and 30 days from sailing and it is highly I courted to reserve the seating goes fast. I hope this info helps y'all out enjoy your time onboard.

  8. Welcome to the Getaway, this will be my third time on board the Getaway in three weeks. To answer your questions.

    1. You don't need to make dinning reservations for the MDR you just show up when u want to have dinner. I would also recommend taste and Salvor they are on Deck 6 Aft, and I liked them better then the MDR.

    2. They might gave sign up at the ropes course but last time I was on board it was a full ship and never really crowded same for the watersides they might be a little busy but never really bad.

    3. The easiest place is either the atrium on deck coffee bar on deck 6 or the Buffett on deck 15

    4. A lot of a good family meeting spot depends on who is in your group if all adult Spice H20 is excellent and if you have younger members then the sports complex is a good spot

    5. It us always a good idea to brink a lite Hackett as there could still be achill in the air at night and to save packing space all u could use the same lite jacket in case of a quick sprinkle other then that the weather is the best this time of year.

    6. It us freestyle most people will wear jeans to the MDR or any of the free dinning options and some of the paid dinning. Some people will dress up but I'll is fine as long as it looks clean and not swim wear.

    7. Best tip is before u leave download the iconcarge app for your phone, pay the 7.95 per phone to be able to txt and call other members travelin. Just make sure ur phone is on airplane mode and using wifi on board.

    8. Best place to stay before and after the cruise is the port of miami holiday inn. But it might be hard to find anything in that area thus close to departure. If u have to stay away for the port area find a place in Doral near the Dolphin Mall, I lived in the area for Two years and you gave to be kinda careful were you get a room.

Good luck on your planning and enjoy your cruise

  9. Howdy there neighbor, i just booked the cabin for the trans atlantic right below u, I'm in cabin 12312. I have been on both the breakaway and the getaway and if this on is designed like them then the difference is not that much to really be noticed. I hope that helps all in all they are bigger then the normal size balcony all others have.

  10. I was on the Getaway last week and i whould go to Spice everymor ing at 9 am and there was always seats avialble. While there is little shade back there other then a few unbrellas it was never tot ge point that i could not find aplace on a lounge chair. The only problem might be if you are looking for more then two or three together. But save your money are ship was completly sold out and never without a seat in spice.

  11. I was just on the Getaway 7 march to 15 march and Sinan was the CD. We was full of energy alway upbeat. Every morning at 1000 am he would sing you are my sunshine to start the day off on a upbeat note. By far ge is a great cruise director. Your cruise is in good hands.

  12. Bring a cord i have sailed on the Breakaway (sister ship) of the getaway and there only outlet is by the desk and let mentioned in this forum needed one for my CPAP. I usually travel with what us called a fellows mighty 8. It is a compact 8 outlet extension cord. It is perfect for using on a cruise ship. In fact i just replaced mine that I had for a few years for my cruise on the getaway on the 8th of march. Hope this helps enjoy your cruise.
