  1. I just got off the Seaside.  Food wasn't horrible.  It was bland!   Not a lot of any seasoning.  The portions were very small.  You could order more then one.  They have a main menu with same items nightly and a small selection of different items each nightly.   The two buffets always had same items.  Make sure you walk all the way around, it appears that there is just a pizza and cold cut section - keep walking.

There is also free sit down breakfast and lunch (Seashore)  it isn't open for long time, but it has different items then the buffet.

  2. Ok, my experience was similar.  We just got off Seaside on 11-24-18.  I traveled with my Dh, 18 year old son and 13 year old daughter.  We were part of group of 26.  All have cruised numerous times in past on different cruise lines.

Ship is beautiful, not too difficult to navigate.  No, none of the elevators had air condition and was very warm due to not utilizing LED lights lights.

We had a fantastica cabin 14193, which was right next to elevator. Location was great.  But for a balcony room it was small, especially for 4 people.  The bunk beds were set up when we arrived and never were changed into couch.  Bed was comfortable.  Bathroom small (a large person would have difficulty in shower).  Never had a lot of interaction with room steward, but he was always friendly.

Did not see any of the shows,  except for the adult comedy and family comedy show.  Dont waste your time !!!

Kids enjoyed water park.  lines for zip line always long.   Nice nightly pool dance parties.

Buffet closes at odd hours (afternoon when returning from excursions and at night after dance party)

Casino is small.  No craps tables,  small number of slot machines (I estimate about 100)  mostly $0.01.  Black jack, 3 card poker, two roulette all $10. large bar in casino, not a lot of table service.

Nice scenery for photos, BUT, most photographers seemed angry and took bad photos (showing sides outside backdrops - people with closed eyes - looking away)

Cozumel and Costa Maya nice ports (end of docks).  Be prepared to be hustled in Ocho Rios.  Fury Catamaran in Cozumel great excursion - fun water park.

Dining room - Biggest negative.  Very small food portions - food  bland.  Wait staff not friendly.  We were supposed to have two large tables for group  were were all separated, when requested different set up we were told it could not be done.  But two different groups was accommodated.

Sports bar nice place to hang.  Bunch of tvs playing ESPN and ESPN2.    Several small private viewing pods and a couple big private viewing area.

  3. I applied for the MSC Status Match almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything.

How long does it normally take? I'm not in a critical rush, but want to make sure that I don't get lost somewhere in the process.

What is the best way to "nudge" MSC if needed?

    Thanks!

Mine appeared about two weeks after I applied. I did not get any specific notification that it was there, it just appeared.

  4. Just used them last week.

    Miamiportparking.com

The location was JetPort Park & Ride Center - Miami location.

Safe secure parking $9 a day (compared to $20 at port) Park and shuttle takes you directly to boarding areas. The shuttle ride was about 10 minutes in traffic away.

Driver was waiting when we arrived back in Miami.

  5. I just returned from Vista. We pre-purchased (through Carnival) the Wave-runner, Snorkel and Beach ~ Driver Package My daughter is 11,so I couldn't pre-purchase her tickets (driver age minimum 16). The tickets for the drivers were $89.99.

Once we arrived at the meeting spot at the pier, we bought a passenger ticket for $49.99.

The entire excursion is fantastic, but slightly physically challenging. They did not collect money for the passenger, they are just added into our cruise account.

After a safety brief you are issued fins, snorkels and mask. Thank snorkel with a guide for about 30 minutes. The pristine watch made feel as you were in an aquarium. There had to be a couple hundred fish swimming with us. Breathtaking beauty.

We then watched a video on jet ski operations.

(The beach resort where this all takes place is awesome), even if you just come hang for day.

We were again suited up with helmets and vest We Swam about 20 feet to get on the wave runners.

My 11 year old road with and behind dad.

We drive the jet skis for probably over an hour We were giving options of riding fast or more conservative It was windy out and there saw a slight chop in the ocean.

The equine t was in excellent condition The 4 total guides were OUTSTANDING!!!!

Once you were done riding you could hangout at resort beach, pool, restaurant and tequila bar (FREE Samples)

There were plenty hanging rooms, beach chairs, lockers.

I recommend this and plan on returning

  6. Since trained weathermen (supposedly) are able to predict weather a week to 10 days out. Is it possible to forecast the ocean wave height for Western Caribbean next week (Jamaica, Cozumel and Grand Cayman). I've read a lot recently about cruises that had to skip certain ports. Would like to know if I should not even bother looking/booking excursions.

  7. Just returned from Oasis. We visited St.Kitt and booked the excursion on board $94. Snuba Underwater Adventure with Beach Break. My family of 6 from ages 11 to 50's participated. A bus picked us up a port and brought us to a beach area that had a small cafe and bar and beach chairs.

Our guides gave instruction and took groups of 4 and 5. The drive took us about 30-40 feet deep and lasted about 30 minutes. To saw many types of fish, coral, shells, lobster. After the dive we then got to enjoy the beach for about 30 minutes before the bus brought us back to the pier.

Very much enjoyed and would recommend this excursion.

  8. I just returned from a wonderful cruise on the Oasis. Prior to sailing I was going through the Cruise Planner and made reservations on day 3 for Flow Rider for my three kids (11-16-25).

Day two the kids went on FlowRider during day. After already experiencing it they were skeptical if going to the reservation instruction time.

When day three arrived my three kids and three other passengers were escorted to the surf side with two employees. From that moment they had over two hours of private instruction time. No lines, just them. The staff was outstanding teaching those that were not so talented and gave tips on special tricks to those that seemed to master the surf and boogie boards.

That said. Make your reservations if you have any desire.

  9. St. Kitt Snuba was a great excursion. My family participated, including my 11 year old. Similar to diving, but It does not require dive certification. Better then just snorkeling because you can go 30-40 feet deep and stay under for the entire dive (about 30+ minutes under water)

A bus picked us up and dropped off at pier. It took about 20 minutes to get to beach site, which had a cafe and bar.

The cost (booked on board -Oasis of Seas) $94.00
