Thank you so much for this review! I realize that it is a lot of work and even though your sailing was a while ago, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed it and have found the info very useful. We sail in Feb 2016, just before the Jewel goes into dry dock. Your review makes me look forward to going even more. We are still very much 'newbies' to cruising so this is great information! I booked a B2B last year for this June. I was never notified about that the deal ended.

 

If you plan to book tours, you may want to check into it.

 

When I try to book online, I only get full-price and there is now a new pdf that does not have any reference to the discount, unlike the pdf document I received when I booked. I would be very interested in knowing if you get something different online or if you get a different answer from Azamara.

And I thought it was just me who missed the notice the cancellation of the 25% off Land Discoveries.

 

I'm quite sure I didn't receive any notification either and I do receive their newsletter and follow them on Facebook but I'm not a FB addict so it could have slipped through.

 

The prices were changing, some by a significant amount (another pet peeve), so I didn't book the land tours last year and now, I seem to be out of luck. I contacted Azamara and they said that they wouldn't honour the offer. Well, at least it's Italy so there are a lot of other options to do things on our own. Their loss on the revenue side.

 

Azamara really does need to improve their communication with customers. Fortunately, I have sailed Azamara before so I know that the onboard experience is really good. If I hadn't, I might also think about cancelling. It just leaves me with a bad impression though I know it will be a great cruise (I hope).

First, let me say that I was very sad to hear about Bill Lieber's passing. He provided excellent information and feedback on this forum.

One of the things Mr. Lieber tried to clarify was the eligibility of customers for the 25% off Land Discoveries once it was announced that it would be cancelled.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those folks who missed the notification despite receiving Azamara emails and following them on Facebook. My hubby and I booked a cruise last year (for Sept 2014) and I had not booked shore excursions in part because the prices changed a couple of times.

So, I've missed the deadline of Jan 4th.

Mr. Lieber's post led me to believe that we would still be eligible for the discount but I heard back from Azamara yesterday that they would not honour it. So, my understanding is that we can't receive the 25% off nor are we eligible for the current promo becuase we booked last year.

It was a selling point for booking the cruise so I'm quite disappointed. Anyone else have this problem or am I the only one who lost out? :(
