DaisyL. I am enjoying all of your posts. I was on this cruise last year this time and am thrilled to read about your cruise. Hope you brought costumes for tomorrow.

I was on GOS for halloween last year. While I don’t recall any special named drink, they did decorate for halloween and had a costume contest of several categories with prizes. And dance party in the atrium. Lots of fun.

A year ago our group did the sushi making class on Grandeur if the Seas. It was fantastic and plentiful. Then they gave a % off for a return visit to the restaurant during the cruise. Again we enjoyed the food and service.

I have always given $5 (usually items for 1 or 2 people) unless it is for several people, then up to $10

I assume you are having a reception on the ship. Maybe photos too? There is usually a 3rd party contractor involved with selecting and planning all the options. For us it was called Royal Romance. We did not have a good experience with Royal Romance. They were difficult to contact, sometimes taking over a week to return calls and emails. In the end they did not communicate accurately with the people on board the ship, so some plans were missed.
If you are dealing with some 3rd party contractor, I'd do everything I could to get contact info for the people on the ship so you can double check yourself that you and the ship are on the same page.
Thank you for this info. It is very helpful. She is having ceremony, reception, photographer etc. coordinted thru the contracted party. We are assigned to Royal Connections. So far responses have been adequate. If you had alcohol service, did you find the servers adequate? We were advised there would be bar service but no actual bar in the venue location. So servers would take orders from guests and then return. Were you satisfied with any flowers for which you may have contracted? And did you have your own officiate or use one provided by Royal. I was wondering how the ceremony is actually coordinated with the officiate. ~ Thanks.

Our daughter got married on the second day of the cruise, while at sea. We had around 50 people on the cruise.
Thanks. My daughter is planning am embarkation day wedding and I am curious as to how smoothly (or not) things went.

Thanks, the pics are beautiful!
I just have a few small things I am demanding... I just found out the dinner we pay $45/pp or $55/pp or $65/pp doesnt include a dinner table! I mean really? So now I'm forced to try to find a specialty dining option in addition to the 3 hour block so that we can sit and all have a nice meal together.
Did you guys get to sit down for dinner at your wedding? Also, I was told land wedding wasnt an option for Granduer of the Seas.
So did you follow thru with your wedding on Grandeur? If so, how was it? Was your reception in Viking Crown or South Pacific?

OP, I have no answer to your question but love your screen name. I am the mother of 2 UMD graduates.
Thanks and congratulations.

Has anyone held their wedding or attended a wedding on Grandeur of the Seas on embarkation day? Looking for any and all comments or suggestions.

I just checked. Only most FL and TX departure port are listed for Nov/Dec 2019. So perhaps others, including GoS, will come out in a few months.
