  1. If you are feeling a bit different... Try AirBnB.com. I have had excellent luck with them and have booked through them again for both Seattle and Anchorage.

  2. We are taking the kids next March, 11 and 14, girls. Both active and love outdoor fun. Royal Caribbean Enchantment or Carnival Sunshine?

    Better outside room?

    Better 'kid' activities

    Better overall kid experience?

    Thanks?

  3. I would agree that a taxi might be a better option, and that they might be reluctant.

The light rail in Jerusalem is excellent. Just across the street from the main bus station and from the 'City Hall' stop an easy walk to Jaffa Gate or New Gate (i would recommend Starting at Jaffa Gate.

I also agree that often the 'ship tours' cram in as much as possible, and move more slowly due to the number of people. A private guide will go at your pace, focus on your issues and show you as much, or as little but in-depth as you like.

    Enjoy!

  4. A shared taxi is a Sherut.

Many things, particularly in Jerusalem will be closed - sites and most restaurants, shopping. But there is still so much to do. If you are coming with a group they will already take this into account. If you are using a private guide, they will as well. :-). If you are coming on your own - David Citadel Museum gives a great overview of Jerusalem history, walk on the walls, Arab Shuk(market), western Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulcher.... Enjoy

  5. I definitely agree with Talia, go with a private guide. They can pick you up at the port and return you there. You get to go at your own pace. It is possible to get around the Old City but it takes longer to go alternative routes. Make sure your guide knows your needs.

Access 4 You rents electric buggies to tourists (think little old lady of pasadena). Miguel is great to work with. You still have to take the alternative routes but its kind of fun! Your guide can arrange this for you.

  6. I thought our jerusalem Marathon was very organized this year.... As long as you only wanted to walk (or run I suppose) wherever you were going! LOL of course skipping the whole Armenian Quarter of the Old City was highly recommended unless you wanted to walk on the walls - which I highly recommend!
