I enjoyed this thread! It made me wonder, how does a stay at an all inclusive resort compare to cruising?
Someone better at math than I am feel free to chime in!
My husband and I have always stayed at Mexican all inclusives but are considering a cruise for something different :)
Our last stay at Sandals in Negril was about $7,000 10 nights, 2 people, including airfare, gratuities, alcohol, and excellent food. We are paying close to the same for our upcoming 12 day European cruise with airfare!
I LOVE Sandals, but nothing beats seeing Europe and many different ports of call.

Does anyone have any information on what upgrades/changes were made to the Spirit during her recent dry dock?
Thanks!

These are the same elastic materials as a bungee, but its formed in a loop vs straight, and there's a little hook thingie on the loop. You can wrap the cord around something and hook it to itself easily. We have an assortment of them, from about an inch diameter to bracelet sized. Quite handy for everything from hotel rooms to camera baggs to .....
Good idea, I'll have to remeber to bring a few.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a wonderfully detailed review. I am so glad I found it after it was completed, I don't know if I would have been able to stand the wait of each section as you posted them!
Your insight has been invaluable! I will be taking my 16 year old son on the Spirit (Barcelona-Venice) in June, and needless to say we are very excited. Even more so after reading your thoughts, and seeing your photos.
We booked an inside cabin, so we could spend more $ on tours etc. but now I am thinking a ocean view would have been better. Oh well, I will keep my fingers crossed for a price drop, or upgrade and know we will have a blast no matter where we lay our bone tired bodies!
Thanks again for all of the insight and photos!:D

I have used these things (cannot remember what they are called) that are like hair bands with a "hook" on them. You can wrap them around a door knob, shower rod, cloths rod etc and then hang your swim suit etc. from them. I purchased them from Target.
