  1. Hello:

Although, I have cruised a few times, I allowed someone to tell me to hold out for a better rate and now I a worried that I will go outside of budget for my cruise. The rate at 60 days before the 9/28 departure was $149. I should have booked then. YIKES:eek:!!

For those who are experienced cruisers, what are the chances that there will be a below $200 Oceanview room rate for either a 9/24 or 9/28 departure?

I need advice on should I just book now, or hold out for a few more days:confused:.

    Thanks

  2. Hello:

I am traveling to Cozumel via the Carnival Glory on March 5, 2014. Does anyone know of a great excursion that maybe includes, culture, snorkel, shopping, lunch and history that can accommodate a single cruiser. I am okay with being with other couples or singles. The tour I booked, contacted me and told me that they could not accommodate a single person, I would have to pay for 2 people.

    Thanks

  3. Hello:

Well, after realizing that my 40th Born Day would be spent alone or with friends who simply couldn't make up their minds if whether they were in on the plans or not, I decided to hang out with me, myself and I.

I will be on the Carnival Glory (March 2, my actual BDay) and would like some ideas on how I should handle getting out at port and definitely enjoying myself on the ship. I am shy, but warm up quickly and do not want to find myself hanging in my room too much.

I enjoy shopping, music, great food and love love history. I even enjoy the water, although I am a horrible swimmer (taking lessons this summer).

Ports are Grand Cayman, Belize, Roatan Honduras and Cozumel.

How do you handle getting pictures of yourself at different sites, when its only you? Do you eat alone as a single person? Will they automatically give me a single bed, even though I requested a King?

I really hope this will prove to be the right decision for my 40th.

  4. Hello:

Several of the older nurses I worked with in the past have relocated to Belize. I am coming in on March 5th on Carnival. What safe things could a single person do who likes to shop, dine, history and enjoys the water (but not a great swimmer). The excursion on the ships are so ridiculously costly and in every country I've visited I have tried to support local tourism. Any ideas would be helpful. Please forgive me if this reply to your post, is not with the Cruise Critics guidelines. I am new here.

    Thanks.

If you take a bus to the islands it would be a short ride...Just kidding. Belize is a hard port. But it unlike any other in the world. so much to see on the mainland and the islands too. I found Belize on a cruise 7 years ago and went home and packed my bags and moved here.

Do find something that interests you and experience a taste of Belize.[/]

  5. Hello:

What a great post!!! A lots of information and I have 21 days to find great opportunities to explore the Cayman Islands.

I am going on my first solo cruise which ironically departs on my born day March 2, 2014. I am turning 40. While I in know way ever expected to spend my 40th alone, I totally was not going to bring in my 40's with a bang.

I am a single female and wanted to get any ideas on how I should maneuver around the island to see some sites and to have easy access to shopping and some vittles here and there.

I cannot swim (taking lessons this summer), but get in the water every chance I can get, I really would like to see marine life underground if I can do it safely.

Is there a way I can start a one destination and work my way back with looking at some history, shopping, local attractions? Please forgive me if my response to this thread is not accurate.

    Tina
