I can't help you with the cancellation policy, but if you do decide to do a land based vacation...Playa del Carmen is great!

I agree that Playa del Carmen is awesome and lots of great resorts.

Thanks for the review. I'm headed out on the Nov 17 sailing.

Cruising solo on the Sky 4-night Nov 17-21. My second cruise. Just did Getaway in May(studio cabin).

Are there any theme party's on the Sky like the White Party?

Considering this ship for Nov 10 sailing. I think your review confirmed I am making a good choice. Just sailed Getaway in May (1st cruise) and I'm hooked.

Just returned from a solo trip on Getaway yesterday. I am 53 and had an awesome time. They have a solo cruise director staff person who meets daily with any solo travelers and coordinates dinner and other activities depending on the group. There were about 12 of us that gathered on a regular basis. I would guess that most people in the group were 40+ but there were 2 younger maybe early 30's.

There were younger solo travelers who seemed to have no issue meeting people to hang out with especially by the pool.
