  1. Wondering if we will get an upsell offer for our mid-September Alaska cruise...haven't seen it yet. I was hoping we might if there are less people sailing during the shoulder season.

Question--if we do receive an upsell offer, do they tell you the exact stateroom you will be in (i.e. room number)? I had picked our oceanview room to be mid-ship and mid deck for potential seasickness problems. Although a balcony or suite would be very nice, I would have to think hard about giving up a mid-ship spot.

    Thanks!

We received an upsell offer on June 27th for our Sept 9th cruise to Alaska. There were 2 suites available and I chose the midship one instead of aft.

  2. I don't know how it works on other lines as I have never booked an accessible cabin anywhere but NCL, but on Pearl our TA got us assigned to a HC cabin which we were asked to move out of as a passenger with a need requested it. Our TA made the arrangement for the move, which did not change our category but did net us $15 in OBC. We would have moved for $0 but were happy with the minor compensation.

Last year we booked a full suite on the Regal - Baltic cruise. A few wks before sailing, Princess called me and asked very nicely if we could switch to a handicap suite. Apparently, there's a family booked in one of the HC suites, and they needed a regular suite that has a little privacy. Princess assured us that the only difference is that HC does not have a tub. We said OK. When we boarded, we realized there is a big difference. I will not exchange again in the future. Even if they gave us $400 obc. Which they did. But is not the reason we complied with the switch at all. We just didnt think it was gonna be a big deal. Lesson learned.

  3. Hello all,

We will be on the Ruby to Alaska in Sept. We took advantage of the upsell from mini-suite to full suite. Before the upsell, we had 6pm confirmed Traditional dining. When I checked my personalizer, I didn't see an option for Club Class dining. It just says Anytime or Traditional. I called Princess, explained my situation that we should have Club Class dining and she said she'll take care of it. After she made the change, my personalizer says we now have Anytime dining. I was expecting her to change us to Club Class.

Should I not worry? When we board the Ruby, since we are in a full suite (cat S4), does Anytime mean Club Class dining?

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I'm glad to see a recent post about the River Beatrice. We will be doing uniworld's Passau-to-Budapest cruise in August and we are sooo excited! It is our first river cruise and i can't stop planning, researching, and comparing the excursions.

I have one question (at this time). Our TA gave us $150 credit that we can use onboard. Do you have suggestions on what we can use them for? I guess if we HAVE to use it we can get topshelf alcohol (but i'm totally fine with and love grey goose). I wonder if we can use it for one of the optional excursions (maybe Bratislava)?

    Thanks in advance.
