  1. No u don't rent out

It has a staff that serves lunch which is really good . There is a small bar that serves limited drinks and beer that is included

There us a lagoon in the back of the house that is very nice and you can use paddle board ,kayak or just float on VERY LARGE raft.

Or you can go to beach across the road. IT is a little rocky to swim. I was perfectly happy to swin in lagoon and float with drinks. It would be fun for nine but need to reserve as excursion is limited in #. I really enjoyed . Food was good drinks good and relaxing

  2. I highly recommend them. They offer a fantastic tour with excellent guides. Heading there next week again (was there last week) and looking forward to the wonderful South Klondike ride. :)

We are booked for June 13 on the emerald lake tour. Maybe we'll see u there

  3. If they're not going to be fancy on formal night, a week's worth of clothes - even with layers suitable for this neck of the woods - is easily packed in a single carry-on. There are some great videos and tutorials on efficient packing and wardrobe assembly online, e.g.

Really the only extra to note is the essential waterproof top layer needed for Alaskan cruising (wear or carry this onto the plane) and good outdoor footwear (ditto with your heaviest pair). A very light & convenient warmth layer that minimises space is to take a pair of tights to wear under your pants, and a toque/scarf/fleece gloves fold up really small - with those even a breezy glacier sailing day should be tolerable.

I'm much more concerned about the very risky same-day inbound connecting flight than their ability to live out of a carry on for a week! As noted, if they miss the ship in Vancouver they are totally hosed - Princess Transfers will not help in the slightest with PVSA violations and are slower and more expensive than taking a cab.

If they actually booked FLIGHTS through Princess it's possible they'd eat the PVSA violation cost and get them to another port - but even that would depend on the circumstances (there have been a very few cases of folks being flown up to AK to join the ship - but IIRC those were in genuinely extenuating circumstances like an aircraft mechanical failure or very bad weather, not just a missed connection).

Whether or not they can reschedule the flights - cancel the transfers, run straight to the cab line!

Thanks for sharing Utube video !!! we are also planning carryon bags great advice!;)

  4. leaving next week for Alaska on celebrity - please recommend the best hiking excursions for Juneau, skagaway and ketchican.

I am in fairly good shape and feel like I could do most of the hikes but don't want to leave husband ( unable to walk very far - circulation issues) for EVERY port for hike--- Which is the best port to do hike.

  5. My husband and I also were on the April 5th sailing. This was our first Celebrity cruise("newbees) and our second cruise overall -my husband is a smoker(much to my chagrin as I am a non smoker and an oncology nurse for over 30 years) , and we had the premium drink package.

I was happy to be able to go to Deck 11 with him so he could "enjoy" his smoke and I could be with him enjoying the view and sunshine.

I was also happy to be able to go to the spa area and enjoy smoke free time.

Despite all the people having drink packages, I never really saw anyone get rowdy or out of the way. Everyone was enjoying themselves and how could you not!!! We had a total of about 4hours of rain the entire cruise.

The service was terrific and the food was Fabulous( we stayed Aqua class and enjoyed the Blu nightly).

The only disheartening thing for us was go up to the deck and hear the perhaps more "experienced" cruisers complain about this and that.

If you could not find a quiet place, a smoke free place, a fun thing to do, something good to eat or drink or a beautiful site to see on this cruise then I really feel there is a need for a reality check.

On a day to day basis I see sadness because of my occupation and it makes me realize even more that "Life is Beautiful"-as the captain would say on a daily basis as we drifted from port .

One last note--on the cruise I met a young teacher ( in her 30's perhaps) . She was on her yearly vacation. She was enjoying her vacation more than ever and every time I saw her, she was smiling or dancing. And the funny thing was - she didn't even have the drink package!!!;)
