  1. I did not realize until I recently booked another cruise on the Seaside for the end of this month that I was not given credit for my last MSC cruise on the Seaside. I called and was told to email them at the address listed by new.b.cruiser and I immediately received a robo response saying that they received my email. I haven't heard a thing since. It would be nice if they would at least make an attempt to remedy a situation.

  2. Thank you all for your replies.

Yes, I did read the thread regarding the YC menus, but it seemed to be menus from the Seaview. It was my hope that the menus weren't fleet wide. But, judging from your responses, alas, this seems to be the case.

You also answered another question that I had on my mind, that being if we can just order something from the main dining room to be delivered to the yacht club restaurant.

I am hoping the menu will be more traditional by the time we sail, one can always hope!

In any case, we love the Seaside and will have a wonderful time, regardless (would have still preferred the menu that we had in the yacht club last year 😢).

  3. I am having problems as well. I have not been credited for a cruise I took and I have been on hold for at least 25 minutes before I finally hang up.

I was in your situation when I first signed up for the voyagers club. I could only get the issue resolved by calling the company. Even that took a couple of calls before an agent was able to correct the problem.

    Good luck!

  4. Hi all!

We are sailing in January on the Seaside and I was wondering if anyone has any recent menus for the YC dining room.

We are not fish lovers and from what I have gathered on other posts, it seems that there is mostly fish on the menus.

I was in the yacht club a couple of years ago and the menu was varied at that time.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

  5. Depending upon your budget,  you might try looking into "Resorts for a Day". They offer a day pass to the Hilton, which is just a short walk from the pier. We always go there when we dock in Nassau. The hotel and the grounds are beautiful, and you can't beat sitting on directly on the beach and enjoying the water.

  6. I have sailed NCL, Carnival, RC, and MSC and have 24 cruises under my belt.

I haven't been on the Sun or the Sky, but I have been on the Dawn more than once. I think you will enjoy a cruise on the dawn. I am in your age bracket and found the ship to be just the right size. The evening entertainment in the lounges is always enjoyable. There are various activities going on during the day. I don't usually participate, but I love to watch! The theater shows are twice nightly, except for embarkation day, and there is no need to reserve a seat. The shows are as most cruise ship shows, entertaining, and last approximately 45 minutes. The gym is a good size. The main dining rooms offer different selections each night. I find the food usually above average and the service quite good. I love the freestyle dining. I have never waited to be seated in the main dining rooms. I do not generally eat in the buffet. Breakfast is served in the main dining room as well as at O'Sheehan's. There is plenty of outdoor space to relax. The Dawn is "older", but it has been refurbished. I find the staff and crew on all NCL ships to be exceptional. The Dawn makes you feel like family when onboard.

I hope you enjoy your experience on NCL.

  7. I think the challenge on my specific sailing was that we were doing Canada & New England the first week of June and some days were VERY cold (like 40 degrees). So when the only food available was outside at the Great Outdoors or Topsiders, it was miserable.

I've been on the Gem seven times and in my experience, O'Sheehans has only closed from 11:00 am to 11:30 am for cleaning and transitioning from breakfast to lunch service. I will be on her again in March and I am hoping that this will still be the case.

  8. We very recently booked through CAS for a cruise on the Escape this August - phoned CAS and got the OBC credit added with no problem. As long as you are before final payment - you should have no issues getting this obc added whether you are with CAS or not.

We also booked a cruise to Asia in 2018 (this cruise was booked quite awhile ago) - we could have gotten this obc perk added to this cruise too but passed because when we first booked this cruise one of the perks was "prepaid DSC" (daily service charge) - would have lost this perk as it is not currently being offered.

Depending on when you booked, the obc may not be worth it. Just have to keep that in mind!

    Thanks, deefer!

You are right, as it turns out our "prepaid DSC" perk is worth more than the OBC offered.
