  1. My brains a little frazzled at this point. We're taking a chance (because it hasn't been cancelled) by booking Westchester and not Stewart. Stewart's a little too far for our situation. If it gets cancelled, we'll try Sunday or Monday to Jamaica.

Thanks everybody for your help and good wishes. I'll keep you informed,

    Rich

I can't wait to hear that you made it to the ship! Good luck on your travels

  2. We have people hear researching stuff for 2016 cruises now (you know who you folks are). Once you get more familiar with cruise critics people, you will realize researching 8+ months out is considered normal around here. So make sure you pick up the pace on the cruise after the Allure and get a jump on the next one.

That would be me! I've been researching our April 2016 cruise for a few months now!

  3. My kids know about our cruise in April 2016, and have since we booked this summer. They are 10 and 8. They both asked if we could do a dolphin encounter and we told them that we didn't think it was in the budget this go round as we're doing a few days before and a few days after in FL. So they are saving up the money to do it! My 8 year old has already saved most of it! But I do keep a few little surprises for them that I will give as a gift for Christmas!

  4. I over pack for every single cruise  I always say I will pack well in advance (I never do) and I always say "remember you only ever wear 50% of what you pack".....but then panic (and a smidge of OCD) sets in, and before I know what's happening my suit case weighs 50 lbs

This happens to me every time!! Plus I have to pack for my 3 kids! We end up with WAY more then we need haha

  5. We took my son last year when he was 2 and we took a stroller. It was truly a life saver for us! We used it more on the ship then we did anywhere else. But my son loves his stroller and is fine with napping in it so I was able to lay out by the pool while he was sleeping. But I think it's really up to you on if you think it would be worth it to take it!

  6. So...what to do for the next 16+ months? Visit cruise critic daily...check out the roll call board...visit the ports of call board and start getting shore excursion ideas...go to cruisecal and see which ships will be in port with you on each day...and of course, keep checking for price drops!

I actually find the planning/info gathering almost as fun as the vacation itself.

All of this! Our cruise isn't until April 2016 as well. I love to plan, and it drives my husband NUTS!! My kids know about the cruise, but not about anything we're doing pre cruise (Seaworld and maybe LegoLand) or shore excursions!

I'll also be road tripping down so I have a bit more to plan with that!

This summer we have a few small trips planned (visit family, baseball game) I homeschool so I'm also looking for ways to teach them about where we'll be traveling!
