Does anyone know if the Jerk Hut is included with these day-passes, for sure.

And, is it open most every afternoon?

The HRH resort website indicates that the jerk hut is open Saturday and Sunday.

I'm going on Carnival over Christmas - we have more excursion options, but I'm leaning toward just walking to the colonial zone. I've downloaded a tourist map and google map to my phone to be able to find some key points of interest. My only concern is that the closest bridge to the port does not seem to have a sidewalk. Google earth shows the distance at about a kilometer and a half.

There have always been many taxi cabs/vans anxious to take people on tours.

We're a group of 4 that will be in Dominica on Dec 23rd. So far I haven't had great luck getting responses from the more popular tour companies, so I'm wondering what people's experiences have been in just trying to pick up a "cab tour" at the port? We've had mixed results at other ports, what is Dominica like?

Will be on St Thomas in December on the Conquest and thinking about the mini-boat adventure. I swim/snorkel but my wife doesn't - do they allow you to put onto the beach to put out a towel? Sounds like they mostly snorkel off the boats, but I think she would be happier beaching while I'm swimming.
