  1. Farcus' designs were insane, but in a wonderful way that made me feel that I had left normal life and stepped into a fantastical world.

The non-Farcus Carnival ships are lovely but feel a little bit IKEA.

His designs aren't things that I'd choose for my home or office. But I kind of appreciate an outrageous and over the top visual flair when I'm on vacation.

    I totally agree!!!!

  2. To pretty much echo what everyone else has said:

    1) They are very quiet in the evening, especially during dinner and shows. Sometimes they start to get busy again during the late evening (after 9-10pm) because usually half are closed for cleaning, but not overly crowded.

    2) Again, they start closing half mid evening for cleaning, but half are always open.

    3) During port days the entire pool area is usually a quiet place until mid afternoon. It is actually a nice way to spend a day compared to how busy the ports can be!

    4) Sea days mid morning through late afternoon they are busy.. but if you are a morning person before 10/11 am, they are usually pretty open as well.

    Have a fun trip!!!!

Thanks so much for this info, it's very helpful. I am very much a morning person. I don't suppose that they would be open from 6 or 7am? That would be great! Even 8am would be great :)

  3. Hi,

I'm sailing on the Independence in September. It's my first cruise with Royal Caribbean:D ! Can anyone tell me what times the hot tubs on the ship open and close? Also, I'm especially interested in the two hot tubs in the Solarium. Is it crowded often? When are they least crowded?

Any help in this area would be much appreciated!

  4. ok, I hear you guys and i think you may be right as to why Carnival charges more for the obstructed view cabin. In my opinion though, if my view would be mostly obstructed it would make more sense for me to pay less and simply get an inside cabin :-). I know that being close to the lido deck is convenient (when i cruised on the Breeze I was on the deck below the lido and it was very nice to run up to the buffet area!) but at the same time I don't mind and really enjoy using the elevators and admiring the beautiful Carnival atrium!

    Thanks much for your responses!

  5. Hi,

I'm checking out an ocean view stateroom on a 10 day cruise on Carnival Glory that sails in January 2016. However, when I choose the stateroom category, Carnival offers me 2 options: Ocean View for $779 included in price and then Ocean View Obstructed for $5 more per person per day! I don't understand. It seems to be upside down, shouldn't it be the other way where it costs less to have an obstructed view? Can someone explain why this is so?

    Would really appreciate any feedback

    Thanks

    T
