  1. Meh not really thrilled about the trade off of a Sea Day for Nassau but I guess it could be worse. Back to Capt Jacks in Grand Cayman. We have never been to Jamaica so I guess researching what to do for that port so I guess that is fun.

After the bullet we dodged from irma here in Tampa I can find better things to complain about than our ports getting changed. So we will roll with it and enjoy it no matter what.

I hope everyone still has a great time.

  2. We're on the same cruise! I've never cruised during the holidays, but I heard they have parties in most venues with a countdown and there may or may not be champagne bottles in the hot tubs and an ice sculpture pushed into the pool at midnight!

  3. We just booked the Epic for New Years 2017. This will be our first NCL cruise we have done 2 on carnival and will be on the magic this December. How does NCL compare to carnival? Does NCL have a New Years party? How's the kids club?

My wife and I did this on the pride last may.. we chose the 450 package. It was great it we are already planning on doing it again for our 10 year anniversary. We booked well in advance. Once on board we had to go to cherry on top to check in again. Our "planner" met us in the steak house on the first night during our dinner (she was rude and condescending) after a talk with guest services and my wife in tears I met with the director of something or another he took over and went above and beyond. Carnival provided a spread of food. (Wings, cheeses, fruit ans veggies)We had 2 other couples with us and felt bad because there was no way we could eat all the food. They kept the champaign flowing. The big down fall is you have no idea when it will be preformed. It has to be done on a sea day but you don't know what time till the evening before due to it going good around the captains schedule. So it was not actually done on our anniversary (but that was spent in half moon cay) no complaints.

We got a photo session with pixels spent entirely too much money on pictures but, oh well. We did get a free 8×10 a certificate with the picture of the pride.

I am sure there are details I left out... if anyone has any questions or wants pics if something... just ask.

I was thinking the same thing we just took our two boys 4 and 8 this past December. We did nothing different than when me and my wife Cruise but (judging by my boys begging to go back to camp ocean, and yelling when is the next Cruise) I am sure my 8 year old will remember swimming with a sting Ray, and my 4 year old remember burying daddy for a while.

I did not see this comment as "snarky"

  6. My wife used it to keep in touch via facebook and post pictures to instagram this past may, I can say that it seemed to work okay. The only major complaint she had is that snapchat would not work, and this was the primary way she intended to check up on our younger son that does not have or need facebook.

  7. Hello, We are thinking of booking this ship for next year and want a balcony cabin on deck 4 or 5. I see by the deck plans that some are obstructed with life boats, don't want those. Does anyone have cabin numbers that would have some coverage? I can't seem to find any pictures of a balcony with some kind of cover, they all seem open to me. Hubby isn't good with heights so I figure he could probably handle deck 4 or 5. We have only been on the Dream once and had a cove, loved it!

    Thanks

    Beth

We had 5248 on the pride and it was a port side Aft balcony with shade, and a clear view to the water. My wife does not do well with heights but did not have one issue with looking over. we will book this room again in a heart beat the next time we sail the pride.

  8. It is 149.99 for any 10 photos and and some free random gifts like lanyards and mugs.

    Don't remember middle package sorry.

349.99 for all of the pictures taken and I believe a USB thumb drive of all of them. And random gifts.

I do know you can add a USB with a copy of the pictures you pick to your package for 9.99.

And the way it works is cool you just find all of your pictures each day and give them to the pixels counter and tell them your room number and then on the last night you pick out the 10 you want or just go pick up your box of pictures...

    That's in a nutshell

  9. Any idea why? Its listed both on their sheet and CapRock's (The provider). Not that I care all that much but I kinda told my DD that she could snapchat from the boat.

Not sure... Wife bought the social package to Snapchat the kids and it would not send nor receive. It would just hang when trying to refresh and then give a cannot load messages error. And that was with pictures and videos

  10. That's a great question, my wife and I are renewing our vows aboard the ship, but we paid for a package and I know that comes with a cake some pictures and flowers I believe and a small reception for us and the people coming with us.

  11. Nope did not here one thing, I had to mail my certificate of birth abroad with my "backwards" name and my old passport which had the name still backwards and a copy of my license which has my name correctly. And when I got it all back the passport has my name just how my license reads it did take two weeks longer, my wife and I mailed our applications in on the same day and she got hers back a little over 4 weeks and it took mine about 7 weeks

  12. So, our son was set to cruise a couple of years ago. He had a certificate of birth abroad from being born in Germany when we were in the army. Well, he lost the birth cert and getting a replacement for a birth abroad from the state department is really difficult & he was short on time. He called me because he was scared he would not be able to go. I had an old passport for him from when he was a baby in Germany, that had expired about 25 years ago. I sent it to him, he did all of the ppwk for a new passport with a rush, they accepted it as proof of citizenship, even though it had expired in like 1989 & he had his passport within about 3 weeks. Passport agency did not need the birth cert because of the old passport. I think you should be able to get your passport just fine.

    I hope this helps.

    Penny:)

Thats what i am hoping for...when i go to the passport office i plan to have my expired passport from 1989, cert of birth abroad, and license...i should be good
