  1. We sailed the week before Christmas on the Magic, the second day was my husbands birthday. We indicated his birthday while doing the online check in, but didn't tell anyone else. He received a birthday card containing slips for both a free picture and a $50 spa card. He was also brought a small cake in the MDR and they sang to him. Very nice gesture from Carnival!

  2. Check out the magic Christmas videos on youtube..they are awesome! Was just showing our girls and yes it is so far away but when you get excitement out of a 15 yr old girl. ..it's big, lol

Thanks for the suggestion, I looked up the videos with my kids, made them even more excited! I have teenage girls as well, I completely understand!

JabberJaw -Thanks for starting the roll call for our cruise, hopefully it gets busier as the countdown continues!

  3. Mind if I join you all? I booked my next cruise with my family just a few weeks ago and immediately decided that this extra weight is not going on the cruise with me! I have plenty of time, not cruising until the week before Christmas. I'm down 6 lbs. so far, looking to lose at least 50. Joined a gym and logging my foods in MyFitness Pal. Looking forward to offering and receiving support from other cruisers!

  4. We are a family of 5, kids ages will be 15, 14, and 12 at the time of sailing. We've done a 5-person ocean view on previous cruise (fantasy class ship) when the kids were younger, and it was tight, but not horrible. I'm wondering how much more room there is in the Magic's deluxe ocean views. Now that the kids are older, will it work? Or should I go with connecting rooms, possibly cove balconies, instead?
