  1. could i take the same amount that ncl charges for tips(even more). and split it among the crew that actually do things for me.?

Yes, you can. You might be out the amount of the DSC for a while, but it can be done.

Some people are so intent on placing their ideals on others that they are unable to answer a simple yes or no question. You have to go to Guest Services and request a form to be filled out and you will be refunded within a few weeks. You may tip or not tip whomever you choose.

  2. We were able to make reservations for each night the comedy shows were offered. One night will be in the main theater so no reservations are necessary. There were three comedians onboard our cruise so for the most part the shows were different but one night as the host scanned our cards he did let us know that the show was going to be a repeat that we had already seen. We went in anyway, and it was mostly the same but is was changed up a little bit due to audience interaction and such. I suggest making your reservations in the terminal while you are waiting to board. They fill up fast.

  3. We had very good service in the Tropicana, but we found it to be too loud for us to enjoy dinner conversation. I also thought it was very chilly in there. We really preferred the smaller Taste and Savor, much quieter and the menus are the same.

  4. Our itinerary was switched in May and we were not told until we checked in. They said it was to alleviate port congestion in one of the ports. I used the time waiting in the terminal to board to email the companies through which we had booked excursions and they were already aware of the switch and had us down for the appropriate day. I think they monitor ship schedules fairly closely since it is their bread and butter.

  5. We saw this show onboard the Getaway this summer and really enjoyed it. It included 4 or 5 magicians/illusionists and a finale with all of the performers loosely tied together with a simple plot. The theater itself is beautiful and worth a visit. We thought the meal was very good, my kids were fighting each other over the shrimp. The desserts weren't great, but that seemed to be the trend for the entire cruise.

  6. We loved The Illusionarium. I'm not a person who ever orders steak in a restaurant, but I thought it was very good and the shrimp as well. The desserts weren't great, but that seemed to be the trend for the entire week.

We also enjoyed the show. We went on the first night and it was a very relaxing way to start our cruise. My kids wanted to go again later in the week, but I didn't want to pay that much a second time. We would, however, do it again on another cruise.

  7. Can you make reservations for comedy shows prior to boarding day. Also, what are the times.

    Thanks for your help

No, at least we couldn't for our sailing. On our cruise they were 7, 9, and 11. The 11 was 18+ but the 7 and 9 were family shows.

  8. We requested an UberXL as we were leaving the terminal and he was there in 3 minutes. Large SUV with plenty of room for 4 of us and our luggage. It was the cheapest by far, even a shuttle service would have run us $60 at least plus tip. This was about $35 and we didn't have to share.

  9. Use your time while waiting to board making reservations for the comedy shows if you are wanting to go to them. Standby lines were very long and many people were turned away on our sailing.

Also, if there are things onboard you definitely want to do make sure you do them before the last sea day. On that day everything is packed and there are lots of lines. We never really had to wait in lines before that day.

  10. In May they were 7, 9, and 11. The 7 and 9 shows were family shows and the 11 was 18+. If you are wanting to go to these shows, I highly recommend making reservations through the iConcierge app while you are waiting to board. We saw people in the standby line get turned away every night. Headliners is pretty small and the shows were very popular.

  11. This ticks me off. I often drink cherry pepsi in the evenings (pepsi with cherry vodka) and now i can't get it without pay extra. I am really getting ticked off with NCL!

Just ask for a vodka and Pepsi with Grenadine. My kids ordered Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers all week long.
