  1. I am on the Valor June 22nd. Have a balcony on deck 7, forward and am looking forward to the Secret Deck. Were there chairs on this deck? Thank you for your great review. You are intensifying my anticipations.

I am on the same cruise! We have the starboard aft wrap on deck 7.

I don't know about loungers or deck chairs but I believe they have wooden benches on the secret deck.

  2. We paid the extra $$ for a premium vista balcony on the Glory and LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Aside from the amazing balcony, the room was larger, huge windows so bright and sunny. Had our DS, DIL and darling toddler grandbaby along, in an interior across the hall. First thing every morning, the cute toddler ran over to our cabin and straight to the door so he could play on the balcony. It was well worth the extra $$.

As for the aft balconies? Looking at those next to us, nothing special, would definitely NOT pay extra.

If money is an issue, you can sometimes snag an extended balcony if you start looking early enough. These are the same price as a regular balcony, but because they are next to the crew stairwells, the balcony is twice as long as a regular balcony. We did this on the Destiny and loved it. Just look at the deck plans to see which cabins these are. I think they are all aft, the two cabins next to the premium vista balconies...

Buaha I got greedy and snagged the extended balcony and aft wrap on the Valor when I saw there was no single supplement.

My wife and I now have 2 rooms both with large balconies for 500 dollars cheaper than both of us booking the aft wrap together. Plus each room has 100 OBC with it.

  3. I have traditionally been a beer drinker while cruising but after learning about the match play program Carnival offers I am thinking about switching to cocktails as I do enjoy hitting the blackjack tables with the DW

  4. Fosters is the best deal. Leaned that quick on my first cruise on the Glory. Taste is passable cold but once it warms up it's a bit skunky.

DW's sister moved to Australia...she has told us that real Australian's laugh at Fosters. It really is the Natty Ice of Australia.

  5. Coincidentally I stuck it back to Carnival when I found a babysitter for our infant.

My wife and I will be sailing as 2 solo cruisers on Valor on June 22nd. We got an aft wrap and L shaped cabin balcony (you know the double size balcony for 8a balcony price) For a total of 2300 bucks for the two rooms. Now we have balconies on either side of the ship for coming in and out of port.

  6. Yes I will agree that the Carnival kids sail free is a placebo sale....unless you have 3 kids.

Almost any other promo priced out with 3rd and 4th cruisers were cheaper than the KSF promo although I did find it odd that a suite with 4 vs a balcony with 4 was only a couple hundred more dollars for the week.

  7. I believe you can just go to the casino cage....Pull out the amount of cash you want I the form of chips....just go walk around a bit then cash it out. It's all effectively doing the same thing.

Also back in 2009 I would pull straight cash from the casino cage. I don't remember...I could swear there was one scenario where you would be charged 3% or so to take money out maybe it was the cash at the cage I don't remember.

  8. We are sailing on the Valor in June, our first cruise ever, and have booked two balcony rooms. One for us and one for the kids (lucky little terds).

Non smokers. Just want the balcony. Fresh air, sunshine, extra room, private space outside. :)

What date sailing? My wife and I will be sailing the Valor in June on the 22nd

  9. I have cruised on the Glory in 2009 and Splendor in 2012. I had an oceanview and an inside cabin respectively. I hate how you lose track of time in the mornings on an inside cabin.

Cruising again in June on Valor for a belated honeymoon with my wife (married and had a baby in late 2013). The two of us just booked two rooms for the June 22nd sailing as there was no single supplement for this sailing.

We actually ended up with and aft wrap and one of the large balconied L shaped rooms on Verandah deck for 500 bucks less than if we tried to book the two of us in the aft wrap together!

Booked on the opposing sides of the ship so we will always have primo view going in or out of our port intensive itinerary

  10. So on Carnival right now for Caribbean sailings in May and June I have found certain sailings that charge no single supplement online. June 14th on Glory comes to mind as an example.

I am thinking about booking two balconies for my wife and I...one port and one starboard to ensure the best view no matter what port.

Has anyone else ever done this? If I pay both in full they cant get wise and try to charge me more after the fact right?

Well on my very first cruise on 2009 on Carnival Glory our group took over the black Jack table almost every night. Dealer kept forgetting to deal themselves a second card...needless to say the Samoans in our group weren't happy as they were on a roll and the pit boss had to keep calling it a dead hand.

  12. I was on Carnival Splendor on a 7 day Mexican Riviera cruise with my now wife. There was a girl in her early 20s that liked being the life of the party. We ran into her everywhere we went as she was easily noticeable in her Captain's hat, parrot sunglasses and turquoise cowboy boots.

Well while relaxing in one of the aft hot tubs after our first day in Cabo "Boots" decides that she wanted to have a dip as well. She was quite drunk and proceeding to make up a story of being married to another guy in the tub who was also drunk and in his mid 60s. She was saying that she was divorcing him and here to pick up her San Lucas in Cabo.

She then proceeded to grind on an elderly Asian lady giving quite the obscure lap dance.

Long story short we end up chatting with an older couple in Cabo on the second day only to find out they were actually this girls parents and both respectable school teachers in their own right.
