Maybe you should ask at a bar before getting so upset.
If it is included, why put mis information in the stateroom? There's always someone with a nasty tone on here.
-
Just boarded the Indy. Very excited but very disappointed to find that bottled water is NOT included in the Premium drinks package. On the website when booking it included it but the summary sheet in the stateroom says not. It was one of the deciding factors. I would've brought water onboard if I'd have known. Feel ripped off.

Hee hee worked it out now. We set off tomorrow to sail on Saturday, I think it's exhaustion from all the packing and preparing. Thanks guys. I am officially a dumb blonde!
-
Confused about all this "fold do not cut". Does it mean fold in the middle? Surely I have to cut it out of the paper it's printed on? I know I sound dumb.
Thanks

I'd not thought of all those naughty things you could do with a bottle of Baileys and a bottle of Jack Daniels. I promise I wasn't going to sneak them for my 7 year old to drink and we're cruising without friends so no worries on that score.
Thanks everyone! Nine days to go!!!!! :)

However, if you are boarding the ship at a port other than your initial port of embarkation, they would hold the bottle and give it back at the end of the cruise.
I am thinking about the duty free at Gibraltar to purchase some tax free alcohol to take home. I'd have no intention of drinking it on the ship, I want to get my full money's worth from my premium drinks package. It doesn't worry me that they'll confiscate it as long as I get it back but I wondee why they'd bother for people who aren't purchasing drinks onboard anyway.

Yes. If by "spirits" you mean liquor and not wine. Wine is permitted, other alcohol is not.
M
You say liquor in the US and we say spirits in the UK, same thing. We call wine, wine.
-
When boarding the ship with our 1 litre bottle of spirits each, would they really bother confiscating it? Especially simce we have purchased the premium drinks package each so us drinking our own stuff would save RCI money!

I noticed on a YouTube video of the Royal Promenade on the Indy that there is an ATM there. Does anyone know if there is a charge to use it? I'm thinking most likely. Also, I assume on a European cruise it will be dispensing Euros. Am I right?

I do hope you know that La Seyne Sur Mer is MUCH closer to Toulon, than Livorno is to Florence or Civitavecchia is to Rome. You can actually see Toulon from where you will dock in La Seyne Sur Mer; it is maybe a 10 minute walk to the relatively short ferry ride into Toulon. Absolutely no way that you will be viewing Rome, Florence or Pisa from your other docks. You are looking at well over an hour and generally multiple conveyances in the other ports to get into the listed city.
Yes I know, we have excursions booked for those ports as they are some distance. Thanks.

Can anyone recall how many power sockets there are in a typical Ocean View stateroom? I know they have European and US ones. Just working out how many adapters to take.
Thanks

Thank God! I might've had to cancel the whole trip! Well maybe not go that far but it would have taken a huge shine off the holiday feeling like I looked a mess all the time.
-
I don't know why they don't list the correct port on the itinerary? I know there's lots of different places to travel to in the area but we wanted to keep it simple and relaxed as it is the first port of four back to back ports incl Rome and Florence/Pisa. I fear we'll be flagging as we have a 7 year old and there's a lot of walking involved with the other trips.
Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for your reply. Is it obvious that you are in La Seyne-Sur-Mer? I read on the message board that a person spent the day in La Seyne-Sur-Mer thinking they were in Toulon as they weren't told anything different by the ship staff.
-
Does anyone know if the Indy actually docks in Toulon or in La Seyne-Sur-Mer? Very confused!
-
So the ship doesn't actually dock in Toulon? I have to get a boat across to Toulon? Is this provided buy the cruise line or do we pay for this ourselves? We are due to arrive there on RCI Independence of the Seas. If we don't dock in Toulon then it is misleading for RCI to list it as a port of call. Please help, confused!
-
This is probably a silly question but when ordering drinks for myself and all the family, I'll have to show all of our sea passes right? We all have drinks packages.
What happens with drinks in the Windjammer? Is there a drinks waiter to get bar drinks or a bar you go to yourself?
Is Windjammer open 24/7? If not, what are the opening times?
Is there air conditioning in an Ocean View room? (Indy)
I am worried about the ship being full and feeling very overcrowded (we go on 9th Aug in UK school holidays). I fear never being able to get a sun loungee on sea days and if this happens what do we do with ourselves? If anyone can put my mind at rest I'd be grateful.
There are European power points in the Indy cabins right?
This is our first cruise and while I'm very excited I'm also feeling a bit nervous about the unknowns.
Thanks
Davina

Thanks Sinny. Loving the review, we're on the Indy two weeks tomorrow! You're right about indian food in the UK, I eat many more curries than I do roast beef and Yorkshire pudding!

Auto tips do NOT cover room service. Between midnight and 5am there is a charge, during normal hours I'm sure the person delivering your tray would appreciate a tip. We usually give $2 but it is up to you.
This is why I don't want to order room service. I will think that the attendant will expect a tip but my husband won't want to give one as we have already prepaid the tips. Hate the whole tips thing, it is a downside of cruising. We thought pre paying tips would take the pressure off having to keep finding the cash to tip but it seems it doesn't at all :(

Thanks Bob.

Are there tea and coffee making facilities in an Ocean View stateroom. On the Indy if that makes a difference. If not can you only get it via room service? Is there a charge for it? We have the premium drinks package.
Thanks

I have had my shore excursion tickets through from the company (not RCI). They say to meet at local time and not ship's time. We are sailing from the UK around Europe. So will ship's time be UK time and not alter according to what country we are in. How will I know what the local time is at each port? Do I just have to work it out?
I get easily confused and I am worried that I will be late. I can see I'll have to keep altering my watch and I won't know where I am.
-
Thanks for your replies. I'm glad I didn't book him on, I'll just have to sort out childcare onboard.
-
I have just booked this for myself and my husband. I didn't book my 7 year old son as it was not clear if Children could attend as they only quoted adult prices.
Now I am worried that I won't be able to get my son into Adventure Ocean when we are having our Mystery Dinner. If not, will I get a refund?
Can anyone advise me;
1. Can you book children for the Mystery Dinner?
2. Would Adventure Ocean definitely be open to take my son between 6.30pm and 8.30pm?
Thank you in advance
