The $55 should also cover the ride to and from the port.

Yes, the Reef is that good. LFK has its on little boat to take you from their dock to the reef. Those Jolly Rodgers catamarans you see at the port take their people to the same general area you will be snorkeling.
-
Honestly, take the boat ride to the reef. Its like 5 mins. The drop off to the canyon is awesome and the coral is in great condition. We went out twice. Its a 10-15 min drive but we hit some construction/ detour on the way back that add a couple mins. We brought our own masks and snorkels but used their fins.

We went less than ten days ago. I sent them an Email to tell them when and and how many in our party and that we wanted them to take us out to the reef to go snorkeling. They replied with instructions on where to go to meet the driver, what to expect, etc.
We really enjoyed our time there and the snorkeling was excellent. Lunch was very good too. They had been, until recently, carmel excursion. No longer work with carnival but they're very familiar with how the cruise ships operate and make sure you get back to your ship in time.

You will have no problem with LFC transportation/ time frame/safety.
They were a Carnival excursion until a few months ago. Its a bit of a walk up a hill so if you have mobility issues keep that in mind. They drop you off back at the port right in front of the shops at the port. Hammocks, tons of beach chairs, different areas to hang out depending on what you want. We paid extra for snorkling off of their boat. Best snorkeling I have done anywhere. No venders bugging you and good food.

There are different packages. Look up the website. Its not free to just go hang out.

Great, thanks...more room in suitcase

Sunshine!
We leave tomorrow and I have a question. The snorkling gear at LFK....do they supply fins? Just thought you might have noticed and don't want to bring mine if I don't have too. Thanks!!

Sunshine. ..your initial review is what turned me on to this place to begin with so I will take your advice!!

Oakonship, they don't require a deposit . I think its more of a tentative headcount really. I made a "reservation" for this month but if the weather is icky, I am not spending a couple hundred bucks to go there. The email said if you didn't get confirmation from them in time, meet the driver on the other side of the gate outside the port. They went into detail on what he would be wearing about his shirt says.

Valor from San Juan, hands down. I would do it again in a minute. Met four ppl who make it a back to back on a regular basis.

Thank you so much. Sorry to hijack the thread.

Thinking of booking this trip through Carnival. Have posted on the forums but not yet had an answer. Is it really only a four hour excursion via Carnival? Also, is there enough time to take a water taxi to West End, check it out, and get back to West Bay to take the shuttle back to the ship? we want to swim / snorkel, lay in the Sun and look at West End too.

I still think about those Macaroons in St. maarten.

We had the same experience with venders on st Lucia. Love this review. We did this trip in May and Barbados was hands down, our favorite

If you love coffee...art of espresso or quarto sombras. Quarto is super cool and trendy.
